Hello All! I am approaching 60, was diagnosed with IBS in my 30's with no suggested treatment. I have celiac and autoimmune disease. Now that IBS is on my radar and adjusting to a FODMAP diet, I am hopeful I can regain some stability in my digestive system. It is so good to see the questions and answers printed here as this disease is isolating and lonely. The adage, "misery loves company" is true. I do not wish this confusing and frustrating condition on anyone, but am glad to know I am not alone in the very real struggle to have food be my friend and my stomach to be happy. I am working with a dietician who is helping me navigate the diet of a fickle system. Hugs to all of you.

i would say welcome but this is not a club anyone wants to be a part of. IBS is such a broad condition and hopefully one day we can be given more specific diagnosis's.
Good luck in your journey.
You are certainly not alone and a lot of us have very different symptoms and I am convinced that IBS can be cured by diet, exercise and something for the stress i.e. meditation/hypnotherapy etc. I am partly following the low FODMAP at the moment and will follow it fully when I come back from holiday. Unfortunately I do not have the help of a dietician (I was referred a few years ago but the funding was removed
Very best of luck to you for the low FODMAP diet.
