Hi all ,writing on here for the first time , and looking at the symptom list for IBS, i tick all the boxes, but getting my GP to take me serious and make a diagnosis is an ordeal in itself .(very dismissive) been going through a bout for over two weeks now . the usual toilet problems , bloating , stomach cramps . lower backache, lethargy ,etc etc .any advice on diet etc would be greatly appreciated.

Try and see what you are eating that triggers the ibs your suffering! Quite a few foods on fodmap are ones I've already found to be a trigger so write a diary of what your eating and drinking - and how they have affected you!! caffeine can be a trigger maybe swap to decaf for a while - it's all very personal to you as yes there are common triggers such as onion and garlic caffeine etc but what one person might not be able to eat another can.
