referred for Colonoscopy but after hassles with Private Ins. co. going back through NHS. Looked up waiting times, double checked with Doc. referral still in place, heading into Week 9, and last 2.5 weeks I have got worse, and it is impacting even more on work? Can I ask for it sooner? in pain, and have high pain tolerance, so starting to struggle now

Timings?
Hi
If your GP decides it's urgent you can be fast-tracked through the 'colorectal pathway' in Scotland. I suppose they have a similar service if you're elsewhere in Britain.
Best wishes
I would go back to the doctors and say how poorly you are feeling and don't think you can keep on going like this and in particular the amount of pain you are in. To have a high pain threshold and suffering like this it certainly needs sorting out the sooner the better.
In the meantime, have you looked at your diet and eliminating foods? I am only thinking of this until you have your Colonoscopy as cutting some food(s) out of your diet may help. For instance, I get a great deal of pain if I eat raw carrots or sweetcorn, there are other foods that don't like me but these are the worst ones.
I hope that your doctor listens to you and you have the Colonoscopy very soon.
Very best of luck
