I suffer with colitis which is similar I find I have to watch I eat. Wheat and corn cause me problems, have you tried keeping a food diary to find out what triggers a attack. Best of luck

Yes I have kept a diary and just when I think I have found the food I struggle with others. Had to give up my beloved cheese 😢. Am currently waiting for results of my stool tests as I was diagnosed in my 20s, doc thought good idea to check nothing else going on. x

I have only recently been diagnosed and get so frustrated with it. especially when it is bad first thing in the morning and you then get the though of hmmm is it ibs or a bug as its that bad. just thought of it getting worse with age fills me with dread. i hope it starts to settle soon for you

I would suggest you ask your doctor to test you for Dyboisis

It is caused by the bad bacteria taking over your gut, that bad bacteria lives off carbohydrates particularly. I had spent 4 years trying every eating plan for ibs?? Finally diagnosed in Australia. Put on antibiotics for the gut only, for 6 weeks to kill all the be, then hospital supplied probiotics 500 million strength.

Hi I was diagnosed when in my 20s after tests but doc thought I need tests again as I'm over 40 and my nan died of. Bowel cancer. It gets me in a morning and sometimes I'm late for work. I then get anxious as often stuck in traffic.. Ouch! I get tired too and also have irregular heartbeat which am sure there is a link somewhere! Oh it's so good to talk to those who understand. My family are great and used to me having to plan routes with many toilet stops on way!! But not sure they fully understand. It's horrendous isn't it x

Hi I take alverine up to 5 times a day but also (much to my docs distaste) take Imodium comfort which is fab especially if am going on a long journey. Find ibuprofen really helps too. There is a new product at Lloyds chemist and may try that

Do I think the probiotic harmed you?

I have found a waterbased probiotic called Symprove to be amazingly good . Only one draw -back . It's expensive . Google it and read all about it .
