Professor John Hunter elimination diet and soya milk.

I am currently doing the elimination diet that professor John Hunter recommends in the book Irritable Bowel Solutions. I see he has Soya milk and yogurt on the allowed list, but I thought that soy products can cause problems in some people.

Soya products can become a problem especially if you use them a lot when avoiding dairy. Having them more than twice daily might lead to a problem.

Be aware that soya flour is in many bread products these days.

Thankyou for the reply. I'll probably only have it once a day in the morning on gluten free rice crispies.

Then you will be very unlikely to have a problem with soya.

I have loads of data on this from my job as specialist nurse in food intolerance, so feel confident in advising you.

I use Alpro soya milk on cereal, in coffee (not tea) and for cooking. I use Pure vegetable spread for putting on bread and cooking

I've been doing this for 4 years with no problems

You could try almond milk. I much prefer it to soya and when I had an intolerance test some years ago soya was way up on the list! I actually prefer almond milk to cows milk on cereal, its delicious. However, I still have a small amount of cows milk in tea and coffee. Almond milk makes strong builders tea which I cant face. My daughter who is vegan doesnt have a problem at all with having it in her tea and coffee.
