Contracptive pill and irritate bowel syndrome

Hi

I have been on the contraceptive pill since I was fifteenth years old I am now nearly twenty one years old and I have a two year old son. I use to be on Overnette but my weight increase my GP has now change me to Desogestrel ( mini pill) I only get a period sometimes.

I have also been suffering from Irritate bowel syndrome since i was twelve years old I have been on a lot of medication but nothing has settled my Irritate bowel syndrome.

My questions is:

Could my weight gain be related to changing over my contraceptive pill or could it be related to my irritant bowel syndrome
