Has any IBS-C sufferers ever fasted for a day and just intake water? I wonder if it would help with the bloating and constipation

I have fasted with ibs-d I find it helps as my intestines are so busy, I give them a break from eating and things settle down. You could try fybogel that may stop you having ibs-c which in turn would help with the bloating and constipation. Good luck

Have you tried cutting out certain foods, as I find my bloating is down to eating wheat, have been told I have colitis

The best thing for stopping bloating and gas is cutting out wheat. It's hard cis you have to totally rethink your eating, but I was so desperate, I tried it. Keep all carbs low. Don't replace wheat with loads of 'gluten free' stuff. I've been doing it for a month and have had no bloat or gas since. I read a book called "Wheat Belly" by an American cardiologist which was an eye opener. Try it, it might work for you

Ok thanks!

CONSTIPATION needs LOTS OF WATER. I DON'T KNOW IF IT WOULD HELP WITH THE BLOATING THOUGH?

Hello,

When I drink a litre of water as soon as I wake up and a glass of lemon water , I manage to go to the toilet within 10-20 mins of drinking it. It is a lot of water I know but it does help, good luck x

I'm not Muslim but my boyfriend is and, during Ramadan, I like to fast as a token of my support for him (although I sneak in drinks of water when he's not around). It's no surprise that I'm pain and bloating free until Iftar (the breaking of the fast, at sunset). I drink gallons of peppermint tea (laced with peppermint oil) to subdue the cramps before attempting to eat. It has partial success.

I found that good old fashioned Shredded Wheat helped move my bowels without even knowing I had possibly IBS. As it is fibre, and that helps one to go. Hope it helps. 😀
