Daily routine consists of on-again/off-again pain occurring throughout my entire stomach. Some days it starts before I am awake, causing extreme nausea and discomfort until about mid morning. Other days, more often; I awake and within 5 minutes I am unable to lie down (or function at all) until I have sat on the toilet for at least a half hour. I am 21, female, under a lot of stress, having irregular menstrual cycles, and my eating habits are atrocious. I have seen the doctors 4-5 times over the period of a year, related pains all like this; that never lasted more than a month span. I was treated for stomach infections, bladder infections and kidney infections. About half a year ago I even underwent a series of ultrasound, blood, urine and x-ray tests done that all proved fruitless. Frustrated at spending countless hours in emergency, only to still be in pain. Does not seem to be specific food item related, as I have tried to boycott certain foods; to no avail. It has been about 2.5 months now since I have woken up pain free. What should I do?

You admit that your eating habits are atrocious. Have a look at FODMAPS from Monash University which is an elimination process to help you find out which foods are affecting you. Lots of IBS sufferers have found this enormously helpful.
hi
probablay stress but your eating may be the cause. try small meals, keep a diary on what you eat and how you are in 24-36 hrs time. at your age likely you can get rid of this. walking, yoga all good for ibs sufferers
