It did absolutely nothing for me - just a bit more snake-oil peddling as far as I was concerned!
Yeah i think you might be right. It sounds good on the description, i think i should probably give it another try though, just in case. Im literally willing to try anything at this point!
Yes, that's how manufacturers make their money out of people like us - we'll all try anything if we think there's half a chance it might work. I've got kitchen shelves which are bending under the weight of so-called remedies!
Expensive and done absolutely nothing for me either, apart from making me feel more unwell than I already feel. You mention it I've tried it,it's all a con as far as I'm concerned .
In 12-13yrs I've found nothing to help, and believe me I've tried everything that's out there. I think when your talking IBS,it fits such a lot of other health problems, that's what the S stands for Syndrome because it's finding what the Syndrome is. It could be food intolerance, dysfunctional bowel,or I've found out recently it could be a nerve,
Like the Vagus nerve,or there's one called a Prudetial nerve,I think I've spelt that right.
But my Gastrologist is giving me an MRI scan to check that out. They still give the impression of IBS. Google it and check it out against your symptoms.
i must admit ive tried a lot of things. Tried different fibre levels, cutting out gluten, cutting out dairy, Omeprazole, Amitriptyline, Mebeverine, Buscopan, Gaviscon, FODMAP (Currently on this, too early to tell but i find it very tough to stick too). The only thing that does seem to help is being on holiday. So that maybe points to stress being a fairly big factor. Need a wonder pill to cure it, wouldnt that be nice!
I've done the Fodmap diet religiously for 8wks,all that did was make me feel ill,I think due to a lack of vitamins.Tried all the meds you mentioned including,Tramadol, and even morphine,Diazapam, for stress. But your right it could be stress,if so you'll have to find a way round that,oh and I've even had Hypnotherapy. I've travelled from one end of the country to the other, seeing professors,Gastrologist and such. It's driving me mad,I've lost 12yrs of my life with it.
Wwow im so sorry. Im in year 5 and still looking for answers. Have you heard of or tried FMT? Ive seen mixed reviews but it seems to have helped a lot of people. Also have you been tested for SIBO? I think this is the direction i may head in. Its starting to get me really depressed as i cant do a lot of things i would like too. Im 27 and would really love to travel more but know that i couldnt make it. Its tough also that no one really understands what it is we go through.
A lot depends on the triggers and underlying causes of your IBS. SG basically works by lining the digestive tract and preventing irritation. Unfortunately that is not always the sole or main cause of IBS which is why it does not have much of an effect for many people.
It seemed ok for me, kind of like immodium. I never found the right dose, and Immodium is easier/cheaper. I showed it to my Gastrologist and she thought it was probably ok, but then she gave me a script for Librax.
