I've suffered for years everyday. Is there a pattern with your good and bad days? Is it stress related? If no pattern it could be food intolerance when you go over your threshold.

Yes Carole2; in 2007/8 I was so ill with it, that I lost over 10% of my body weight, was going to the toilet up to a dozen times each morning (not all day), was nauseous all the time and eating was difficult because of that. I had to give up my business as I was unable to function. As I started to get better (tried all the remedies, allergies etc..)my Gastroenterologist told me that sometimes your body has just had enough stress -as SwishyMichy has just said, that it just stops you in your tracks. I am now quite well, have regained my weight to a healthy level, try to eat most things. So now I cope with it, rather than 'it' coping with me. There is no miracle cure - whatever people may tell you - but I am no longer struggling with it, it does ease up and yes I still take some meds which help. Hang in there and try not to stress about it, as that makes things worse. You will be fine; look how many people on this site are coping. Good luck.

I've suffered for 12yrs about the last 6yrs every day and still can't get to the bottom of it.But I'm not alone as there is a lot of people on this site the same ,so stay with us and you may get some useful information from some people.I can't be much help because if I could help you I could help myself.Just be assured your not alone x

How sad is this, so many people suffering from the same condition, am 20+ years plus of suffering, life style hugely changed, still no further forward, need the bathroom non-stop with explosive bowel action for at least 4/5 hours a day each morning, eat, take meds, process starts again, never, ever get constipated, maybe listening to others I haven't got IBS?

Have had bowel camera's up and down, bowel went into spasm when under the ether.....

I truly wish you the best, hopefully you can get your condition sorted.

Awww, you have my sympathy. Please share any forward progress.

This is happening to me now. Try Colpermin. Sometimes I find trying to make myself carry on makes thing worse and just rest. The only exercise which helps for me is swimming. Really feel for you. It's like having bad toothache and really gets to you at times
