I have, and wondering if anyone else on this forum has. Would like to hear your experiences with meds etc.
Anyone diagnosed with TB in the eyes?: I have, and... - TB Alert
Anyone diagnosed with TB in the eyes?
Yeah I am. Been tough experience so far. I'm few weeks into treatment. Things have improved but I do get anxiety when my vision fluctuates
Hi gurms32, Are both your eyes effected? I only notice it in one eye, especially when I close my good eye. I see grey squiggly lines that blur vision so parts of picture are missing. Is that what you see? I've been very reluctant to start such strong antibiotics until I knew for sure it was TB. I'm starting them within the next 2 wks, what side effects have you had? I can't get straight answers from docs or nurses, it's always "everyones different" which leads me to believe they're bad, they don't want to tell you, fearing you won't take meds. I'd rather know ahead of time what I'm dealing with so I can be prepared. I can't even get a straight answer about getting diarrhea which is a major concern for me. Anywho, hopefully we get through this & keep our eyesight intact.
My goodness! You poor things. TB never fails to suprise me with just how unpleasant it can be. I am glad that you have both found someone in the same situation - this should be a great source of support as you go through the treatment.
It is true that the TB treatment can be very difficult, though also that everyone is affected differently. The important thing to remember is that the TB medication works and can stop any further damage to your eyes quickly.
However, there are well known side effects that you should be aware of. You can read about them in our leaflets:

Wishing you both well over the coming months.
