New here , just recently my mother got diagnosed with TB . Three sputum tests are positive and the treatment continues in isolation in the hospital . Just need to know if it would be longer . She has lost hope and is very frustrated. Not sure how to help her .

Having TB is a shock, because the treatment is long and you can feel very poorly. However, after saying that, she now has a diagnosis and treatment will now begin to make her feel better. Make sure you all stay distant from her whilst she is active for two weeks because you are at risk too. Your mum must take her antibiotics every day without fail, because if she doesn’t she will undo all the work killing off the TB bacteria and will not only put her own life at risk but everyone around her.

Hope she feels better soon
