TB treatment.

Hi all,

I have been diagnosed with pulmonary TB. After months of struggling I finally am seeing a difference with medication. I still have a long way to go with the medication. My question is why do I feel so tired. Lately I have been sleeping more and eating less. I can only stick to one meal a day and even that is a challenge to finish. I thought that my appetite was getting better but I seem to be put off by food. I drink lots of fluid.

Tiredness and lack of appetite are classic symptoms if pulmonary TB. As the medication starts to work you should improve.

Hello Amija12 when did you start your medication? Isoniazid can make you feel nauseous, tired and lacking in appetite. It all takes time to get through this. You are doing well but report anything you feel concerned about to your TB team when you go. Keeping a diary is a good idea. We, on this forum have all got a story to tell with our worries surrounding this nasty bacteria. But rest where you can and I’m sure your appetite will slowly return - good luck

I had times when I felt extreme tiredness and I found that very difficult. Please be assured that the tiredness will eventually pass and you will have more energy.
