Yet to be diagnosed.

I finally found an organization that is going to evaluate me, diagnose me and make up a treatment plan. I get time to decide if I still want their services. I’ve been struggling with all kinds of food issues, insecurity, depression, and anxiety. It’s easy to find someone for my depression and anxiety but not for an eating disorder. I’m hoping for telehealth visits bc I live over an hour away. I can’t do inpatient bc my husband relies on me heavily due to health issues. Anyone relate?

Have you been doing therapy and other stuff for the depression and anxiety Bobbi? I find when I can get those managed my eating issues can almost disappear completely. I saw a nutritionist once, but I was not a fan. I know how to eat well and I am over the fears of fats and carbs that I may have had over the years. I am interested to know how this goes for you.

One interesting podcast/show I found over the years was the "Dr. Nina show". She went over some good stuff and I believe she has a book or two out. Anyway she was always talking about: It's not what you're eating, it's what's eating at you

I wish you peace on your journey☮️

I’ve been in counseling most of my adult life. I am bipolar, have depression and moderate anxiety. I am getting help for all that. I’ll get through it. It’s just harder now than other times. Thanks for replying. I’m glad counseling helped you. I am just so untrusting. I can’t picture the light at the end of the tunnel.

Argh, yes, that is so tough when you aren't feeling hopeful. I think hopelessness is the hardest human emotion. Have you done any ketamine assisted therapy or stuff like that? I think ketamine is helping me rewire my brain.

Ketamine? I’ve never heard of that. Can you explain?

Here is a link to a random clinic that came up when I searched it.

It is a dissociative drug that can help reprogram your brain. I have heard it described as helping you to groove new paths in the snow hill of your brain where you already have some paths that are very defined. At the very least it helps me with perspective on life and existence. The clinic I went to strongly encouraged six treatments, 2x a week to start. Since those six I have gone back about every 6 months. I think the best experience was having therapy sessions where they administered ketamine to you as well. There is a lot of newish stuff out there, I believe we can all find our own path to peace.
