Diagnosis + 18 years; update since Xofigo
My PSA has risen to 5.35 so my medical oncologist has started me on
Xtandi
. The fetanyl patch has made controlling the pain much easier. I am still able to do my daily activities, play bocce 5 days a week, and light exercises.

Preparing for Round Two
I have appointments in September with my oncologist and two doctors at the Cancer Agency and I am guessing it won't be long before they put me on an androgen receptor inhibitory drug like
Xtandi
or Zytiga.

Gleason 9 (5+4) 10+ years ago - widely metastatic cancer and running out of options!
He’s considering clinical trials (now that his cancer has been let loose, so to speak), but he won’t do any chemo, Zytiga, or
Xtandi
. I appreciate advice!

AR-V7 Video.
New video for those interested/concerned about AR-V7 & Zytiga/
Xtandi
resistance. I don't know what form AR-V7 test results takes. One can have a few AR-V7 cells at diagnosis, but that shouldn't stop one from using either drug.

Quercetin & AR-V7.
A common form of resistance to
Xtandi
& Zytiga is the emergence of androgen receptor [AR] splice variant AR-V7, which retains AR functionality but does not need androgen for activation.

Treatment after Taxotere
I have a very aggressive form of MCRPA and Lupron,
Xtandi
, Zytiga and now Taxotere have not been effective. Has anyone gone through Jetvana or other chemo drugs other than Taxotere? Lou

Xtandi is costly in the Philippines
Uro-onc wanted to try Docetaxel but my dad wanted to postpone chemo and instead is leaning towards
Xtandi
which is another option. But it is quite costly and we cant afford it. I was reading articles from the internet and they say that Canadian pharmacies give
Xtandi
for a lower price?

Question about IMRT on multiple targets simultaneously
I have gone through Lupron, Zytiga, and
Xtandi
. I take Xgeva for the bone metastases and for the last 18 months they do not show up on bone scans nor do I have any bone pain. About a month ago, I had a PET scan specific for prostate cancer performed.

First post: Father with metastatic PCa, looking for natural treatment experiences after stoping oral chemo/radiation.
In February this year, his PSA had jumped from 3 (when he was residing in the hospital on
Xtandi
, Xgeva and Lupron injections) to 8. They stopped the
Xtandi
and prescribed him Zytiga (+ Prednisone) in it's place since the PSA kept rising.

Correct Dosage of Calciterol(50,000IU D3) and any results
I have stage IV PCa and have gone through
Xtandi
, Zytiga and now on 3 treatment of taxotere. I heard that large dosed of vitamin D3 has had an effect of lowering PSA (mine is 126). Has anyone had good results with D3? And if so, what dosage should I take daily or weekly? LP16

Taking it one day at a time!
My oncologist has recently started me on Lupron with Casodex (temporary) as we're awaiting the arrival of my
Xtandi
drug. During this time period my mets became active again and the met in my spine has now aggravated a nerve that travels to my inner groin making walking any distance a challenge.

If Triptolide can prevent resistance to

why wouldn't it work with Lupron. Gus https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/28638477 https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2011/03/110303153118.htm

PREVAIL Trial [Xtandi] - low-PSA cases
New study below. The study looked at men with metastatic CRPC who had not received Taxotere, etc. It was limited to low PSA cases - less than 10 ng/ml - i.e. due to "early stage in the natural history of castration-resistant prostate cancer disease progression (low-volume disease), low prostate-specific

Information and Advice on XOFIGO
I was on
Xtandi
for 9 months with lots of side effects and then it stopped working- rising PSA and extreme pain on my bones. Had "spot" radiation to several areas of pain and it was miraculous. Pain gone!

Chemo Concerns
He was initially given oral meds (Casodex, Zytiga and
Xtandi
). He's due for his 4th cyle of chemo (Taxotere) in the coming weeks. His PSA has gone down to 26; however, the side effects have become progressively worse (lack of taste, fatigue, achy, hair loss, etc.)
