asthma and a fib
Hi everyone, I have asthma and paroxysmal a fib. I’ve been on Flovent HFA for ever and recently the manufacturer is no longer making Flovent. I’ve had to resort to the generic Flovent which I feel it really is not working as the brand Flovent. I’ve been having more asthma exacerbation. I have an appt

Relentless Asthma flare
Hi everyone, Last Friday I just started coughing out of no ware. No other symtoms accept maybe a little sinus. I started to take doxycycline just in case. As the days went by it got worse. Sinus , Phelm, and a relentless dry cough. Went to pulmonary Dr. changed antibiotic to z pack and a 6 day methypredisone

Worst allergy season change we've ever had. Advice appreciated!
Hi everyone, first time on the forum and really hoping for some support or advice. My fiance started showing her typical asthma flare ups she gets in mid September through October. Typically, while not fun, these go away eventually with steroids and inhalers. This year, things escalated much worse

Hello
I'm a 54 yr old female and I've had asthma since birth. Now for the past I don't know how many years, I've been on ProAir HFA, Flovent, Foradil, and spiriva. It worked great. But foradil went bye-bye. So I just went to a new lung dr. and now things are not good! I tried Breo with a LOT of breathing

Asthma?
This whole thing started with a coughing fit that was like walking pneumonia, got on antibiotics and it went away a while. Then I started having nightly coughing fits, had a spirometer test and allergy. After spirometry the pulmonologist put me on ProAir and Symbicort. I got off them once I started feeling

New and starting medication tonight
My health issues started about 4 years ago when I got whooping cough in 2010. Got it again almost one year later in 2011. Never recovered from the second episode. Diagnosed with lung disease within 6 month of the second case. Lung volume ranges from 59% to about 70%, seems to be worse when I am sick.

I think my asthma's getting worse the last few years...has anyone else had this happen?
Hi guys, So I've always had to take pred. 3-4 times a year, but a few years ago a lung specialist tried to take me off my inhalers because my breathing test were O.K. (I think because I was on the inhalers). That Fall I had a flare that lasted from Sep 1-Dec. 1 with steroid inhalers, nebs, and two rounds

Trying alternative medicine for allergies (or do your allergy meds help enough?)
Hi everyone, I know I've been gone for a bit. If you remember I had surgery as it turned out my esophagus was compressed, and I kept aspirating and getting pneumonia. So the good news is that after getting a post op pneumonia is February, I've been very healthy ever since! I still take singulair, and

Rescue Inhaler Sometimes Makes my Wheezing worse?
Hi, I was just wondering if anyone else noticed this? I'm in the U.S. so I take xopenex (which is very similar to albuterol). Sometimes when I take 2 puffs of my rescue inhaler, it helps quickly (usually when I'm not sick). But when I take it when I'm sick, sometimes the wheezing gets worse for a while

Bad attack....seems like a good place to find people who understand
Hi there, I've been hanging around this message board for a while. I'm actually from the states, but haven't found such a nice sight around where I'm from. I had a bad asthma attack last week, where I had to go to the ER. I needed pred. My doctor told me to have someone drive me or to call an ambulance
