Beef & Mushrooms in a cream sauce over noodles....and Lu-177 thoughts...plus FoundationOne Testing
I'm facing the oncologist telling me that I need to decide between 3 or 4 really bad sounding options....Chemo for life...Radium 223...
Xofigo
...and I have added in the option of Lu-177. My PSA is doubling EVERY month lately ...and is up to 48.

XOFIGO ? Ra-223...Is it worth it ??
Xofigo
is very expensive ($70,000 for six doses) and its efficiency is somewhat questionable.

PT-112 study
Ok, after many standard of care options (Lupron, docetaxel, Xtanti,
Xofigo
) and 2 clinical trials, this one looks like a good next step. My PSA has ballooned up to 175, but I am stills mostly asymtomatic with Mets in 4 bones.

Keeping my arms, legs, hands and feet inside the ride
They denied i the combo(much to the chagrin of my MO) but approved
Xofigo
. Did one infusion Sept 28. Then my MO called and we discussed. Going to do 4 rounds cabazitaxel starting Oct 23 and hold off on
Xofigo
for now. We are looking at the systemic treatment to reset baseline.

CRPC at 58 - next step
Zytiga / Yonsa vs
Xofigo
are really the two ones I’m expecting. My questions: 1.I’m CRPC now at this point. Extensive bone Mets in my history but resolved from chemo. If bone Mets are back, should I do
Xofigo
first? Any studies done waiting to do zytiga or
xofigo
in any order? 2. Zytiga vs Yonsa?

Whats after docetaxol and how much time
We have done Lupron pretty much continuously, removed prostate, radiation to area, Zytiga with Prednisone,
Xofigo
, and now Docetaxol. His PSA is over 2000. He is in pain everywhere....I am very scared. His children (my step children) dont seem to get it. He is walking with a walker.

Next Steps after Cabazitaxel and Xtandi
My Oncologist, Alexander Menter in Denver, is giving me these options: "I think
Xofigo
, carboplatin, Taxotere, mitoxantrone, and revisiting trials are all good options. " Any suggestions?

Wedding Cake, PSA rising and Scans showing a bunch more spots on bones all over.
More radiation via Radium 223 (
Xofigo
) door # 3. something experimental/in trial/etc. door # 4. She's getting back with me next week after research. None of my options sound so great. I iced my hands and feet during chemo and hated it...and it sucks.

Is Xofigo a good option for extensive skeletal mets?
What about
Xofigo
as a next step? My MO did not mention it and just wants to keep me on Firmagon and see how things go. Any thoughts?

Current status of immune therapy
Several years ago it was prominent in the news; now seldom mentioned other than
Xofigo
which is not a primary treatment, but rather palliative for pain.

Switching gears due to insurance denial of treatment plan
I guess cost wasn't in the insurance reps mind as
Xofigo
is 130k where chemo would be 20k. My headstone will read "im here because insurance wouldn't let me have life saving treatment" First injection done today, so far so good. PS. got results back from Gardant.

Next in line
I asked if I could do Provenge and
Xofigo
together and he said no. He still pushes for that first instead of docetaxel. I asked him if we could do
xofigo
directly after the Provenge and he seemed agreeable to that.

Lu-177 continue or not ?
Xofigo
is an option to choose. Taxanes is no option anymore. Waiting for answer on FoundationOne Liquid CDx, but this dont give a solution for all.

Next steps with high PSA during Jevtana
My doc and I agreed to take Xtandi again for 2 months or so to see if it can attack the PSA again, then to consider
Xofigo
radiation to attack the bones. Do you folks have any suggestions?

Synergy between radiation of metastases and immunotherapy confirmed
In a short-term phase 2 trial,
Xofigo
(radium 223 chloride) was combined with Provenge (sipuleucel-T) in castration-resistant patients.

Return of spinal soft tissue Mets. What to do?
Not sure that
Xofigo
( radium 223) will work with soft tissue Mets but my alkaline phosphotase has gone from 80 to 160 if that means anything. Might also be able to do surgery again and/ or stereotactic radiation. I am now 58 , took a couple of Tylenol and went and played golf with my son today.

Next step: Jevtana or Xofigo?
Hussain again on August 6th to decide what's next, but she mentioned both
Xofigo
and Jevtana as options. (I'm also going to push to switch to dexamethasone before we give up on Zytiga.) Dr. Hussain sounded like she favors
