watchman device implant
I’m scheduled for ablation #2 in February, at which time I’ve decided on a Watchman implant during the procedure. My reasons? I want off of anticoagulants. They carry their own risks of bleeding and even hemorrhagic stroke, plus require limiting changes in an active lifestyle, and are not a permanent

Atrial Trigeminy, PVCs and everything imbetween
I am now actually quite scared as for the past 24 hours I am showing I am having runs of Atrial Trigmeminy, not all the time I don't know if the anxiety is making it worse. I feel like light headed with worry but I don't know if it is the metoprolol as I upped the dose yesterday, but for the past 4

New Blood Thinner for Stroke Prevention
Hi all, Some exciting news for those on Blood Thinners for AF. Abelacimab is a monoclonal antibody given just once a month by subcutaneous injection. It is not cleared by the kidneys, doesn’t require dose adjustments, and is not affected by other drugs. It achieves near-complete 99% inhibition of

PROTACs: another technique to help with mCRPC
I always wondered, if these protein degraders can basically destroy AR receptors, hence overcome both castration resistance and making the cells refractory to androgens...wouldn't it be useless to continue with ADT? Oh well... https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0753332222015013

Proposed ablation next week. 48 Yr old. PAF
Hi all, I have been on waiting list for a catheter ablation for over a year. They called me today and offered an ablation next week at a private hospital instead. Has taken me a bit by surprise to be honest. My AF is paroxysmal and generally very tolerable. I'm 48 so not sure if I should go ahead with

Amlodipine and heart arrhythmias
My husband takes Amlodipine for mildly raised BP and for about 2 hours after taking it his heart performs badly. Until recently, it was merely a slightly raised rate and PAC's, but in the last week his rate is 50% higher than normal, massive amounts of PAC's and PVC's and Kardia shows 'possible AF

Yellow eyes last 10 days (b/c medications?)
So, last 10 days I noticed my eye whites are a bit yellow. Not extremely and not the complete area of whites but enough to get me worried a bit. I take propafenone 3 times a day and bisprolol once for the last 40 days since the afib diagnose.I presume this is because my liver is handling those medications

Afib/tachycardia
Can any of you tell me your experience with the drug Amiodorone? My cardiologist, which I have not seen yet is planning on putting me on it! My last pacemaker check up showed that I had tachycardia during afib. I’ve had afib for years (24+) two ablations, no help. Only drugs are bisoprolol and apixaban

stress test concerns
I am about to do a stress test on treadmill but worried about it because I am not that fit or young, and have a history of pvcs and atrial fib. I am concern about the pace of it since I don’t want to kick off these issues and coming off beta blockers for 48 hours is a concern! How hard to do they push

Home testing machines
I am new to this group and I have family with afib, I have panic and anxiety with rapid heartbeat but was trying to rule out heart issues. I bought a kardiamobile ekg machine and tried it about 10 times and always got unclassified. My husband tried it and he got normal so it didnt appear to be interference

PVCs with anxiety or anxiety with PVCs.
I am sooooooo tired of living with PVCs which flare up with my anxiety or wait did I just feel my heart flip flop and now I am anxious? Echo clear, blood pressure good, don't do caffine, well hydrated. Docs said once get your anxiety under control. Don't want to be on meds for pvcs. When I am so calm

Blood thinners from the first diagnosis or?
Is it standard practice to put you on thinners from the start or only if you develop permanent afib? Because I didn't get blood thinners. Just bisoprolol and propafenone. Mind you, my episodes are pretty short. Never more than 45min, and vast majority under few minutes. 40 days since diagnosis.

Hi, quite new to this forum and this is my first post. Recently diagnosed with Afib, 58 year old man, otherwise healthy. I have different types of episodes. Some seem to be just ectopics - sporadic skipped beats; some I guess Afib since lasting longer with a "bird in the chest/stomach " sensation and

To start blood thinners or not? Response.
Many thanks for all your responses: it is so helpful to learn from others’ real life experiences and I value the advice. Apologies for referring to blood thinners when I should have used the term anticoagulants. Having already reduced my alcohol consumption I cut it out completely 9 weeks ago. Only

Heart Palpitations since I was 9 years old
Hi--I have been on this site before with my story . My story is 62 years long! Since I was 9 I have had heart palpitations. I have had them checked out many times. The most recent was about a year ago when I had a full work up with a cardiologist and they say my heart is extraordinarily in good shape

Permanent Afib and Longevity
Been diagnosed ever since my prostate surgery (and Moderna shots?) 3 years ago with permanent Arterial Fibrillation. Blood pressure is normal for a 73 year old male with heart beats of between 60 and 90 generally throughout the day unless some major exertion. Other than Eliquis i take no medication

Post ablation (1 week) and back in AFib. How often is this likely to happen over next few weeks?
Have had PAF for a few years and this year episodes became lengthier and more frequent, the latest lasting 4 weeks. Had a Cryo-ablation last Tuesday at Lancashire Cardiac Centre and was ok for a week, albeit with a few spells of ectopic beats and a very short run of AF (30-40 seconds only). Went on

To start blood thinners or not?
For the last three years I’ve suffered paroxysmal AFIB about once every month or two on average. I believe it to be vagally related as it typically occurs in the early hours of the morning and normally I can trace the trigger back to large meals and indigestion or alcohol consumption. Normally my heart
