Some praise for allergy drops!!
I'm now in the 13th month and haven't used any
Ventolin
for three months. Imagine my joy... Now, what shocks me is that allergy drops and shots don't get much publicity, not even here, and it still is the ONLY treatment available that treats the cause of asthma and not just the symptoms.

Confused asthmatic
Anyway, it is, or was, well controlled with Seretide100 and
Ventolin
as a rescue med. In March I had C29, spent eight days in hospital on oxygen and developed bilateral pneumonia. Recently I keep getting the sensation of “not getting a lungful” if you follow me.

Elevated liver enzymes - methotrexate? Asthma inhalers? Overweight?
The only things that have changed recently are I've been put on asthma inhalers (brown preventer inhaler every day, blue
ventolin
inhaler as needed) having seemingly developed asthma post-infection back in April with possible covid.

Fostair
Fostair etc - Fostair not effective - changed back to Seretide on a daily dose - quite sufficient along with
Ventolin
if required.

Uniphyllin side effects
She also said that I should be referred to a consultant as I was on so many medications (Fostair 200/6, Montelukast, Braltus, rescue
Ventolin
and now Uniphyllin) but my gp doesn’t seem to want to? Sorry for the long tale.

Dismissive Doctor
On a good day, I can walk around for 7 minutes without needing my reliever inhaler (
ventolin
) afterwards, although there's some discomfort afterwards (a tightness or pressure in my chest). When I'm able, I try to do this daily to build up my fitness, although I haven't seen any benefits from this.

What is the difference between spirometry and peak flow?
Would it show up if I didn’t actually have asthma- I often wonder if I have although I’d say my preventer does increase my peak flow - I never get wheezy or short of breath or need to use my
Ventolin
so I often wonder if it was mistakenly prescribed.

Is Fostair 100 mild or strong?
Is there a stronger version of the blue inhaler
Ventolin
? As mine is 100 and I've seen another which was a 200? Also,is Fostair 100/6 a mild or a strong inhaler? I'm suspecting I need stronger meds as whenever the weather is windy and rainy (which is quite a lot) my breathing is very bad.

Still struggling with unstable asthma
Instead she asked me to use my
ventolin
4 times a day for the next 5 days. I'm a few days in now and it seems to have helped. Can anyone tell me the thinking behind this? I'm just wondering if this is something I could try again if the symptoms start creeping back.

Face Shields/Visors
I can't wear masks at all ( I refuse to go anywhere where one is needed, the only exception being Sunday where I needed to wear one for a few seconds for my flu jab, which was awful and required
ventolin
immediately after!)

Spirometry testing??
At the time the nurse told me to always have a
ventolin
inhaler with me just in case. That was months ago......after having to take only the Fostair, 2 puffs, twice a day, for all those months, I now find I'm needing more

How are your lungs after an asthma flare triggered by virus?
I struggle to talk when this happens and
ventolin
does help. Its bizarre and I find it very hard to describe, but I did have this after my last virus-chest-asthma issue.

Trying to find a balance between getting rid of unwanted odors that don't result in me dashing outside until its dissipated in the house or grabbing my

Do I need to be more patient?
My peak flow is now back at 420 (best in 500) & have been able to reduce my ventalin to 10 puffs of
ventolin
throughout day/ngt.

45 minutes and feeling great 🌞
I have asthma and it was a bit chilly, and used my preventer and
ventolin
before I started. Really helps! As I started I noticed my breathing was hard and it took a good 13mins to feel like I was taking in and breathing out enough air.

Hi I'm new here
Prescribed tiotropum and
Ventolin
inhalers and was told I had approximately 8 yrs left if I carried on smoking. I gave up smoking 6yrs later when I was diagnosed with PAD. I figured that I had pushed my luck after 50 yrs of smoking. Struggling with breathing during February this year.

What next?
Ive has a terrible spring & summer; 5 rounds of steroids, using my nebuliser more than I ever have, averaging about 6-10
ventolin
a week minimum. I tried uniphyllin but it made me horribly sick. My Oxygen says are averaging 92, my peak flow 250. What next? I’m so tired of feeling tired. 😢 Kazza
