tooth extraction - Pred increase?
I am having a large molar extracted on Friday next. I have tapered down from 20mg per day beginning of May 2023 to 7mg for last week. This is my first tooth extraction for some 15 years and my biggest molar (which has cracked) which caused an infection, now on antibiotics for 5 days. Should I increase

fainting every time I’m ill
hi, really hoping someone can help! Basically I have an under active thyroid that’s medicated with 100 lethothyroxine which seems to keep my levels ok. The problem I have is every time I’m ill i’ll pass out multiple times a day. Most recently I have a cough/cold virus not nice but also nothing serious

Well!...... the remains of the tooth have gone and the whole experience has had some positives and some negatives!Let's start with negatives first:- - appointment start time...11.00am but actual start time.....12.05pm! Appointments were running way behind time. Not helpful when you're already feeling

PS to Periodontal Abscess and Prednisone
Thanks to everyone who took the time to reply to my post about gum/tooth infections and prednisone. All the replies were helpful! I did manage to generate one last question. Did any of you who had tooth extractions go on to have dental implants? I am leaning against due to cost and issues related to

Tooth Extraction Enquiry
I'm having the remains of a broken tooth extracted in two days time and because its apparently going to be a bit tricky, I'm going to be sedated. On offer is, - sedation by gas (nitrous oxide & oxygen) - intravenous sedation ( midazolam) The first option seems to have almost immediate recovery afterwards

First, thank you for all the fantastic help and advice...now my question. 9 months post diagnosis and (mainly) tapering well from 15mg to 9mg.In a day or so, I need to have a tooth removed. 63 and with "my generation" teeth. The dentist has advised to double dose on the day of the procedure. That seems

Tooth extraction
Got a dodgy wisdom tooth. My dentistgave me a choice to see "how it goes" or extraction. He said he wants me to stop my Apixaban 24 hrs before and 6 hours after. Im a bit worried about stopping Apixaban. What are the odds of me havinga stroke.. I am 70 yrs old.

Dad's Tooth Extraction Went GREAT!!! :)
Hi Friends, I asked in another post for your opinions on meds to accompany a tooth extraction in Daddy, who has had varying degrees of psychosis following his last surgery. Thank you all for your thoughts, prayers and input. He did wonderfully and the dentist and staff were extremely accommodating

Dental work and alendronate
I need a tooth extraction after a tooth has completely collapsed and became infected. The dentist has tried root canal treatment with the hope of adding a crown but it is still infected in the gum and he says it must come out due to a sepsis risk. He sent me to my consultant for permission as I have
