Just been diagnosed with open sided glaucoma in one eye, have been offered Selective laser trabeculoplasty or drops. Anyone else had laser treatment and give me their experience?

Hi all, At the beginning of August I had the trabeculoplasty treatment. Unfortunately that never worked and my pressure is still really high they are now talking about doing another treatment asap.

I am having Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty soon. I wonder what to expect after the procedure. How quick will recovery be? Will I be able to drive the next day? I would be most grateful for any advice from anyone who has had the procedure.

I had SLT on both eyes in July and had my follow up appointment today. Disappointed to find that my pressures are 20 and 22 so very little improved. If you've experienced selective laser trabeculoplasty (SLT), the National Insight for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) would like to invite you to join their glaucoma diagnosis and treatment committee.

An approved form of laser eye surgery known as SLT (selective laser trabeculoplasty) involves contact with the eye for about 10 minutes. The doctor places a large lens against the eye and rotates it to fire 100 separate laser beams manually.

I get the lung problem under control and then I have to start sorting out my eyes. ( I am going for Laser trabeculoplasty which it is hoped will keep the glaucoma under temporary control) PT xx
