Just been diagnosed with open sided glaucoma in one eye, have been offered Selective laser trabeculoplasty or drops. Anyone else had laser treatment and give me their experience?

Selective laser trabeculoplasty
I've had the laser treatment on both my eyes a few years ago for closed angle glaucoma. The operation, if you call it that, was completely painless. Just a feeling of discomfort when the laser touches the eye. The procedure reduced my pressures in both my eyes from over 30 to below 20. Hope this helps.
Hi, I have open angle glaucoma and had SLT shortly after my diagnosis. SLT is now the recommended early treatment for open angle glaucoma and they like to do it before the person takes drops for a long period. It is painless and very quick. I had my procedure at the end of 2021 and my eye pressures have remained around 12 and at present I have not needed to use drops. Everyone is different but it’s definitely worth a try. I hope it goes well for you.
I had the procedure three weeks ago. It was totally painless and straightforward. I don't know what effect it's had as I am still waiting for my follow up appointment but in my experience there was nothing to worry about regarding the procedure itself.
I've had SLT trabeculoplasties in both eyes, and a repeat trabeculoplasty in one of them. I believe the latest research has demonstrated that doing SLTs before ever starting drops is more effective in the long run, because the eye hasn't yet been compromised by the use of eyedrops.
