would like to donate these items
Sadly my father passed away recently and our family would like to donate his dual motor bed and dual motor reclining chair to a person in the north herts area. Both are in excellent condition and it would give us comfort to be of help. We also have other useful items that we would also be happy to donate

We can die free chickens or we can die trying, a lesson in great escapes from your humble viral meningitis survivor.....
At Christmas the BBC usually shows the Great Escape but this year for some reason they didn’t but that’s not to say there wasn’t an escape of great proportions going on anyway. As the survivor of a near fatal attack of viral meningitis I thought I was always careful to watch my limitations, take it

Doctors.
Afternoon everyone. I know doctors receptionist get a bad rep but with the exception of one mine weren't bad, until a few weeks ago. My husband had to have a triple by pass he was treated at the William Harvey in Ashford, but they work with Kings College so he was under a consultant there. He wanted

Hi all. Can anyone tell me if they have seen the nebuliser that is going on sale tomorrow in Lidl's. They advertise it as "Vibrating
diaphragm technology for high nebulisation and short inhalation time" It continues by saying there is an extensive range of accessories including mouthpiece, adults' mask child's mask and more. Batteries and storage pouch included, and, it is ideal for travelling. It comes in at £29.99. I'd welcome

That cough!
I've forgotten how I should use the forum properly, yet it is related to an entry I made in Sept 2012. The cough has come back, an utter nuisance. Ventolin would reduce it for a short time. My asthma nurse said my airways are clear and there's no infection, if it persists I should return after Christmas

UPDATE on my daughter, Missy; a Christmas miracle, for sure.
First, thank you, everyone, for your prayers for Melissa. You touch my heart. She's home from the hospital now, but not quite out of the woods. So, please keep her in your prayers. Again, when they were extubating her while still in the surgery suite, she had an esophagus spasm that completely closed

Chest infection feeling rough
Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum but not asthma. I was diagnosed with asthma about ten years ago. Up until now it has been fairly stable with some chest infections. I have seen the asthma nurse and have always had the flu jab. I have been really well lately so stopped taking my steroid inhaler.

Can anyone help me get over this?
Hi everyone I am writing about something which happened 20 months ago but which is bothering me tonight. I am hoping by writing it down it will help - I know it's irrational to still be upset about it now. In a nutshell, my son who was 4 at the time, coughed on every breath for three nights and three

COPD
I was diagnosed with COPD about 8 years ago. Since then, any support has been with my GP and clinic at the practice. I did have a couple of visits from the Chest Nurse a separate unit but when I was unable to rejoin the group physio due to arthritis of the spine and hip, they no longer kept in touch

Heading for another longish admission
Having been admitted (kidnapped!) straight from clinic last wednesday I hoped Id be in and out quickly. Unfortunately I went down very fast and by Friday night I was quite seriously unwell, at least in part due to complete exhaustion after 2 days and nights with absolutely no sleep on an acute ward.

Brittle Asthma exacerbation + pneumonia
Hi, I'm new to the forum! Mum of 3 small children (2,3 and 5) and I've had brittle asthma all my life. For the last 5 years it has been wonderfully controlled on 2 puffs of fostair bd and I've had maybe one or two admissions/steroids a year. Just over 3 weeks ago I was bluelighted in and needed back
