Is her mummy to herself, the sofa to herself, not to share her water bowls anymore, go for walkies without a mouthy little companion, and the roast chicken cooking in the oven to be entirely for her. Yes Lottie has a companion(s) at the moment. Been an extremely busy couple of months, Rubie (Affectionately know as Weenie Beanie) has been staying with us temporarily for two months. Lottie has been very accommodating, putting up with a loud mouthed, ill mannered, naughty dachie. The Lottie household has endured puddles and protest poos in inappropriate places, disturbed nights because Weenie Beanie wanted to sleep with Daxiemad, if Daxiemad's mop had feelings it would be working with it's union to engage a better rate of pay, working conditions and less hours. Trouble is if the mop gained these rights, then the washing machine, electric shower, and sofa would want the same and then total anarchy would descend if their needs were not met,
Yes both Lottie, Daxiemad and hubby are very tired now, after looking after and retraining Rubie. After a considerable amount of work Rubie is considerably better, has learnt that chasing little people, and dogs in the park is not acceptable, and will come back at my command providing I act well in advance. She has also learnt helped with guidance from Lottie that toileting in the garden is more acceptable and if one does a little circle dance in the kitchen afterwards you get a reward. After a month of broken nights, Rubie also learnt that Daxiemad wasn't prepared to share her bed at night, though cuddles in the morning for any hour or two were okay, and now sleeps either in her own bed or on the sofa at night (as long as there is a big duvet or fleecy blanket to tunnel under. She has also learnt that she eats from her bowl her food, and if she doesn't like it tough. Mind you Daxiemad thinks a diet of chicken, rice, scrambled eggs, white fish, and tuna plus IAMS, is pretty damn good. Rubie thinks anything Daxiemad has is better. Plus Daxiemad is right because Rubie no longer smells disgusting, and can cope with her doggy breath which previously would have knocked you from 20 metres (okay slightly over the top, but it was bad).
10 days ago Winston Rubie's brother arrived, and my work load has tripled, dear ole Winnie has he is lovingly know has some disabling issues due to a tumour on his thyroid gland, which means he doesn't retain much weight, tiny at about 4 kilos, minnie daxies should be about 6 kilos, has gangly legs, dribbles a lot due to issues in his mouth (So Daxiemad's mop is on unpaid triple overtime). On top of all of this Winnie has some of the same issues as Rubie did when she first came, and so Daxiemad is busy working on improving house training, sleeping habits etc. Can walk as I have proved to him, he has been pandered to, but will never walk as far as Lottie and Rubie so Daxiemad has been carrying about the place in a rucksack much to the amusement of those she meets whilst out exercising the daxiepack.
During this time, Daxiemad has had to cope with crap Asthma, steriods, nebs and syringe driver have been working very hard, Shingles for a month though thankfully after four weeks now fully recovered, worsening of eczema due to the extra housework and her current level three OU studies for her degree.
Due to Winnie's needs Daxiemad's studies have suffered a bit, and as a result apart form Christmas Day she has to work hard to catch up on her studies (Not that she minds as there is naff all on telly), but despite all the hard work Lottie's little friends have brought upon Daxiemad and hubby (who has been brilliant because he only realised he signed up for two months of grief when he came home from work one day and Daxiemad told him) she is going to miss them terribly. Her body might be moaning but her warm heart was so happy to see a naughty little daxie (Rubie) turned into an improved daxie (Not perfect, they don't do perfect they are hounds) and loved providing care for special little Winnie. So whilst the peace and less housework will be welcome Daxiemad is going to have to have extra cuddles off her darling Lottie Bottie to make up for the empty spaces on the sofa.
