Teriparatide as a treatment for osteoporosis
However, my latest DEXA shows a T score of -4.2 in the L4 disc of the spine and I may be considered for
teriparatide
. Any thoughts/experience of this drug therapy please?

Parathyroid Hormone Treatment for Osteoporosis
I have quite severe osteoporosis and the hospital consultant has recommended I start a 2 year course of daily
Teriparatide
injections, which I understand is parathyroid hormone. Does anyone have experience of this? I have already had an L2 compression fracture.

Information about REMS Echolight scan for osteoporosis
No fractures to date but my doctor would like me to start taking forteo (
teriparatide
). I am wondering (hoping) that if bone quality is good maybe I can manage things without meds. I am 68 and otherwise in good health.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!
I have read about a treatment called Forsteo/
teriparatide
. Does anyone have experience of this? I understand it's more difficult to access and is more expensive. I'm interested in it because I've read it actually creates new bone growth as well as strengthening existing bone.

Wish I could help
Finished
Teriparatide
injections a year ago had no side affects while self administering. BUT I almost enjoyed the peace of lock down. Sitting in my lovely garden in the hot sun gave me time for reflection. I am lucky to be alive. My daughter is my carer. Be positive if you can, it helps.

Transporting teriparatide
But wondering what people using
teriparatide
(I have Terrosa) use if they are going away. We used to drive to France quite regularly and are really hoping to do so again sometime in the next 2 years (I’m only a week into my second month so nearly 23 months to go).

Terrosa
It says
teriparatide
on the box but the manufacturer says it’s a bio similar and it’s cheaper than the original. Fingers crossed it helps and any side effects aren’t too bad.

Decisions decisions
Teriparatide
daily injection which can only be used for a maximum of 2 years and is expensive. He thought maybe better as a future treatment following something else. If it’s that expensive I doubt NHS will continue to fund it in the future. Can’t find much info re side effects.

which is the better treatment for osteoporosis for post menopausal woman of 78 years?
Teriparatide
subcutaneous injection failed to increase the bone density in the hips and so the risk of hip fracture is still there after completion of 2 years course. It works magically to increase bone density in AP spine but not the hips.

Best treatment for Osteoporosis in the hips.
All the medicines (prolia/

Dreaded AA again !
I am now coming to the end of a 2 year stint self injecting daily of
Teriparatide
. I am told it is too expensive to be prescribed on the NHS ( I get it on the NHS !) but think I was given it to make up for my being on AA with the results mentioned. Am I too cynical ? I don't think so.

Risedronate (Actonel),raloxifene (Evista) or teriparatide (Forsteo)? Which do I choose? Experiences?
Hi. Currently living in the Netherlands but originally from UK (moved here 4.5 yrs ago). Had results from my 3 yearly DEXA. Spine worsened a bit (-3.3 to -3.6), hip improved (-2.2 to -2.1). I usually run a lot & take Calcium & vit d but a (still healing) metatarsal stress fracture & this result has made

Has anyone used this treatment for osteoporosis for the recommended two years and, within weeks of stopping the injections, been diagnosed with PMR/GCA?
