Taxol

My Mum has had to start taxol straight after four lots of caelyx. She has managed to only have two lots with about two weeks gap. Each time she has felt too bad to have it. Her next one is due on Monday but she wasn't allowed to have it the Monday just gone as her platelets were only 58.

😢 I have a scattering in my abdomen like last time and have been told I have to have 3 weeks of taxol and 1 week off for 6 months! I had carboplatin last 2 times which gave me a remission of 2.5 years then this time only 1 year so he doesn't want to use carbo again this time and use taxol only.

I had debulking surgery November 21, 16, and just had my third round of chemo (taxol and carbo) this last thursday. I have read that you cannot feel the chemo in the tissue, yet every time for about a week after, I have a burning pain, where cancer was removed.

Been on Taxol and Carboplatin for ovarian, I assume that is main treatment. 3 months now to next check but having CT at Christies in 3 weeks or so as they are great there. Trust me to have two primary cancers but am positive and feel ok. Anybody had similar dual problem would like to know.

Was treated with taxol/carboplatin and 2 yrs later i had a reoccurance. Currently on 3rd round of Avastin. Im so tired, does anyone know if this symptom will pass or is it ongoing? My onc wants to add chemo to the regime, im just so undecided what to do.

It was my birthday anurse sits with you for a few minutes they gave me taxol I had a very bad reaction. The nurses told me after they didn't think I was going to come out of it,they said they tried everthing and I cam out of it so thats when I wenton taxatere. Great bday present. with love Jo

Carboplatin/taxol 9 treatments,then scan, followed by a surgery.I will resume chemotherapy after I recover from surgery.I'm BRCA2 positive and I had a swollen left neck lymph node.I am very happy to be a part of this community.

I am on Taxol and carbopIatin and was told my magnesium was low. I was a bit out of it whilst having my chemo so really didn't ask the relevant questions. Should I be worried by this and what should I do to improve my levels.

I have done a few walks (just around the house, or the garden so that I'm being a little bit active...) and then I find I get a heavy tiredness come over me, similar to when I have all 3 drugs on chemo (carboplatin, taxol and avastin) and so I've ended up laying on the sofa again...where I've stayed,

I wasn't ready to end treatment this time last year when my carbo/taxol finished but now I am really ready...can't wait! At the same time that old fear in the stomach starts up...recurrence..will it? Won't it? When might it?

I feel bad about having to do it but I'm on my 4th type of chemo (weekly taxol), having been in treatment for 14 months apart from 6 weeks last summer.

I'm dreading chemo tomorrow since I am already under the weather (carbo/taxol combo day). Some days my neuropathy is so uncomfortable I can't stand it. My sleep is off and on, largely due to hot flashes.

I am having back pain which was the pain that initially took me to the onc. I think this is because I have not had chemo for three weeks and the cancer in my lymph nodes is no longer suppressed. I have just had my 5th of 6th , 3 weekly carbo/ taxol after a break of 4 weeks post debulking.. my hair has now grown ! 👏👌🤗.. but now I'm back on the chemo do you think I will lose it all again ? Does anyone have experience with this ?

Ok so next question - Having been warned by the Onc of the real potential for hair loss on carboplatin/taxol, I wanted to know your experiences. He has said I can try a cool cap during chemo which may help. Fine I'll give it a try! Might as well look ridiculous whilst I'm plugged in!

I found out my pet scan showed progression in my liver. Onc said we will probably radiate the liver and try a different oral chemotherapy. He said I still have many options. I am feelin so scared as this is my first ad scan since my metastatic diagnosis in July 2016.

I am on an 18 week regimen of weekly carbo/taxol for oc (stage 3). Recently (10 week mark) my dr. ran my ca-125 and it went from 564 at the start of this drama down to 11! I was so glad he didn't tell me he was running it as I would have been stressing out of my mind waiting for the results.

So I only managed one session of just the Carboplatin....although did have just 2 Carboplatin and Taxol a while back but was too ill. I went to my GP surgery the day before Xmas eve as it was the tummy ache bothering me.

After surgery (hysterectomy, removal of both ovaries, Fallopian tubes and grapefruit sized tumour) I had carboplatin and taxol for about 5 months. This bought me a great and healthy 2016 - unfortunately my ca125 levels started to rise and now pt and ct scans show a number of tumours.
