What I wish I had known (and what I have learnt through trial and error 😅)
- tachycardia - it’s the asthma drugs, high blood pressure - it’s your asthma, palpation/shakes - too much
salbutamol
, reflux - it’s from the steroids, migraines - probably from the drugs/stress, easy bruising - it’s the pred... on and on and on.

Calling nebuliser users! RE: Help with choosing a new one
Usually, I only use my nebulised
salbutamol
when required sporadically during exacerbations and occasionally I will have a period of regular bronchodilators (
salbutamol
with or without ipratropium) as a bridge between hospital and home.

Dealing with smoke, stress, and extra heartbeats
Hi everyone. I've decided to come out from lurking on this forum and say hello. Here's a little about me. I was diagnosed several times over the years with mild asthma. It didn't trouble me much until wildfire smoke pollution took me over the edge and to the emergency room. I was better in the winter

Worsening Breathing Probs
I am currently on a beclomethasone inhaler for a couple of weeks, with a
salbutamol
one for 'just in case' as my GP thinks I may have asthma. I've had breathing issues on and off for a little under 2 months but over the past few weeks they've become progressively worse.

Newly diagnosed with COP and NSIP
I never had a cough and my Dr gave me
salbutamol
inhalers which made no difference. Got so bad one night that I took myself to A&E convinced I had a really bad chest infection Instead I was immediately admitted for treatment for double pneumonia due to my chest X-rays.

Return of childhood asthma/GERD
Consultant adviced to stop the
salbutamol
as it maybe making GERD worse. Did as advised and went for a run yesterday managed less than a quarter of my normal distance before my chest was too tight to continue.

breathing test to see how I manage without my asthma meds
The clinician told me at the beginning of the test that I would have the test, then she would give me some
salbutamol
and then do it again.

Taking oxygen away!
No longer need oxygen after 4 years. FEV1 is 61. Do the Dr take in account that the test taken is given at rest and when exercising the oxygen level goes lower with just walking no housework, etc. I can hardly breath after going up stairs. At rest my oxygen is usually 96 with exercise even with meds

Visiting..and news
I am following up with my lung care routine, it is tedious but I thought I am so grateful I have those meds because I wouldn’t have coped with this heat (seawater nasal wash 2 to 3 x a day,
Salbutamol
nebs 3 x a day, my 3 inhalers, oral steroids..) as well as 30mn exercising slowly in the pool a day

Smokers triggering asthma, everywhere. Any management strategies?
I'm currently on fostair, fexofenadine and montelukast and am currently having to take lots of
salbutamol
to stop me coughing. It is so debilitating and currently basically ruining my life and what normal activities can do.

Albuterol Sulfate
If you have had your heart checked by a MD and you use Albuteral Sulfate, this can cause the chest pains. When I have the problem I drink a small bottle of water and the chest pain is resolved in a few minutes.

Asthma History
The advice the nurse gave me was ‘blow up baloons’ I go to my GP as soon as my chest starts growling and rattling and when I’m constantly needing the
salbutamol
. I’m currently using Seretide250 2 puffs twice a day.

New Gal on the Block
Hi everyone. I'm looking forward to getting to know you. I've had asthma a long time, I think. It's usually mild, but last year wildfire smoke put me in the emergency room. I'm having a bad flare up due to the same thing. I know next to nothing about asthma and would appreciate advice on how to reverse
