Symbicort
I have been prescribed Symbicort to replace my Seretide, Qvar and Salbutamol. However, I have just read the information leaflet and it mentions that the powder does not have a taste I was just wondering if anyone else is on this inhaler. How do I know if I have taken my dose or not?

I av been diagnosed with adult onset asthma after years of exercise induced asthma. In june of last year, I was diagnosed with pneumonia, with a retrospective diagnosis of whooping cough. From an asthma point of view, my symptoms do not seem to be improving, I am not showing response to prescribed inhalers

15 month old - 'probably asthma' - advice please x
Hello everyone. Just a bit of background. My daughter will be 15 months next week. When she was 2/3/4 months old (Feb/March Apr time), over that period of time she had very noisy breathing. She was eventually given antibiotics and that cleared it up. She was symptom free until Oct/Nov last year.

Constantly ILL!!!
Hi there, I'm 19, I have severe asthma due to many contributing factors. Since Christmas its been one bug after the other, I have had 2 hospital admissions in less than 2 months. Now I have flu and it's driving me mad!! The flu was mainly in my upper airways but now it seems to be traveling downwards

no wheeze, no asthma
I'm still coughing a lot, waking myself up coughing, waking the whole family up coughing, not being able to sleep due to chest tightness, needing my salbutamol too often, retching from coughing, painfully tight chest and upper back, shortness of breath, blueish purpleish lips after coughing fits, etc

Asthma and exercise advice
Hi, my son has just been told he has the start of asthma, so I have been researching as you can imagine. Most of the information I have found seems to state that exercise can induce an attack, but my son says it eases his chest when he is active - is this normal? He is a very active 9 year old. Only

Tired after exacerbation - is it partly due to salbutamol or what?
Hi all! I am new to this forum and glad having found it. The last 3 years my asthma has been in remission and as I have allergic asthma primarily, I only took a very low dose of inhaled steroid to help me in the spring and summer months with much pollen in the air and did not need to take any asthma

Cold or Flu Asthma Trigger
This is my first post in the forum. I was diagnosed with asthma after a very nasty viral illness (glandular fever)in 2007. I am now on the Symbicot and Salbutamol, which I take daily to control my asthma and it does a very good job. I also ride my bike every day to work to control my asthma. The only

What strong painkillers can I take?
I was going to phone the asthma nurse - but the helpline isn't open until tomorrow. I have fairly mild asthma, mostly well controlled. I've developed a cold overnight and my peak flow is down today. I'm not coughing which is my usual symptom but my chest feels a little tight. I'm using Salbutamol regularly

not sure on advice
Hi I went to my GP today as my 5 year old daughter has been coughing for the last 6 weeks and I have been using brown inhaler 3 times a day and blue inhaler several times through the night and no improvement in the coughs. She can cough continually for 2 or 3 hours at night, when she wakes to turn

What might be next?
I have just been referred to a specialist and am on 40mg pred until then, as well as 8x200/6 symbicort, singulair and salbutamol coming out of my ears. I was wondering what the next step is likely to be? I am currently, even with this medication, having at least one significant attack a day, each feeling

How to know when to take reliever?
Hi :) Just a quick question really... I'm in the middle of a bad asthma exacerbation (it's been going on since October) and am symptomatic pretty much all the time - coughing, short of breath, tight chest, can't hold a conversation for too long etc. I have never had a lengthy exacerbation before, and
