I rarely use my ventolin (salbutamol, same as Salamol) it doesn't seem to help one bit. Even if i'm desperate and use it (with an aerochamber) hoping it will help, it never does. Not recommending anyone stops using theirs though! I imagine it's like everything else, it will suit some and not others. Libby

Thank's, I Have Found Theses Auto Inhaler To Be A Pain ... Prone To Miss Fire And Then I Forget As Well .... If It Ant One Thing Its Always A Other It Seems

I Take Qvar Autohaler / Beclometasone Dipropionate 2 Puffs Of A Morning And 2 Just Before Bed And Salamol As And When - A Think It Is Working In A Fashion But Still Have Bouts Of Breathlessness Suppose Smoking Don't Help Tho

But Think Beclometasone Dipropionate Works Very Well On Chest Infections As I Was Always Getting Them And A Constant Blocked Nose But Down Side Is It Look Like Someone As Set A Dry Powder Fire Extinguisher Of In My Mouth .... But On Scale Of Things Can't Complane

Thanks For All Your Feed Back Much Appreciated Cheers :)

Qvar is a preventative medicine, it acts as an anti inflammatory, and should be used daily as prescribed, I use mine through a spacer but NOT the autohaler Using this med without the spacer would give me thrush in the mouth. Even with a spacer if you don't rinse out properly afterward still can cause thrush.

Lungs soon complain if you miss a dose too often.

Yes smoking will keep on causing more lung damage which in turn will lead to more breathlessness. Hope you kick the habit into touch soon.
