What might be next?

I have just been referred to a specialist and am on 40mg pred until then, as well as 8x200/6 symbicort, singulair and salbutamol coming out of my ears. I was wondering what the next step is likely to be? I am currently, even with this medication, having at least one significant attack a day, each feeling worse then the previous - possibly due to me being more tired each time as I am CVA and the coughing is exhausting. Thanks for any advice.

I'm in a similar situation - also on 40mg until see pulmo.

I understand that there will be a lot of tests to (a) identify non-asthma contributing factors (b) particular phenotype of asthma - there are different ""flavors"" of asthma. Some of the more specialist treatments for asthma only work for certain kinds of asthma so they need to identify what particular type of asthma you might have.

There are a lot of different treatments available when the usual general purpose one's don't work properly, so you do have options.

Best of luck - I know the waiting period is hard.
