Help there's a Heatwave!
Hi everyone, I am having a terrible time with my breathing in the hot weather at the moment. I am 44 years old and have had asthma for about 20 years - I take Salbutamol and Fostaire - which I have been on for over 15 years. The Fostaire replaced the one I used to take I think it was called Flixotide

Inhaler advice please
Hello to all. I am hoping that someone can advise me on my inhalers. I have non-specific respiratory problems that run alongside my Lupus. Despite being a non-smoker, my airways are narrowed and also inflamed. I have been using both Eklira and Flutiform but asked my consultant for a single inhaler

What do you take for Chronic Bronchitis
I have a touch of both Asthma and an element of Chronic Bronchitis with normal airflows I am told. My 25-75 is slightly down and I suspect my volumes have increased but are in the normal range. My breathing is however not good and driving me mad. Can I just ask if there is anyone else here with a similar

Free Prescriptions for Asthmatics?
Am I the only one who is uncertain as to why asthma isn't an exclusion criterion for prescription charge payment? I guess I shouldn't be complaining just yet as I still fit neatly in the middle of the bracket that says, '16, 17 or 18 and in full-time education', so I don't pay anyway. But when I get

Multiple ""attacks"".
For some reason I woke up yesterday morning feeling awful with my chest which didn't really seem to settle all day. The tightness would ease off then come back with avengeance bringing along with it ""Mr Cough"" which'd settle down with salbutamol. I feel slightly better today but I keep having these

Change of inhaler
Hi. I have just had an unexpectedly positive and constructive appointment with my Resp Consultant - what a difference it makes when you really feel they want to help. He is changing my inhaler from Eklira & Flutiform to Anoro Ellipta (dual bronchodilator) once daily and I'm interested to hear other

ventolin
I have always got the kindest replies to my questions, and I thank you. I have another question. Does anyone use a Ventolin or Pro air albuterol inhaler? If you do, how many times a day do you normally use it?

First hospital admission - worried
Hi Everyone I've been asthmatic for over 18 years (I'm now approaching 40!) Between December 2013 and August 2014 I needed four courses of Pred and antibiotics. But from August 2014 I've had good consultant care and an excellent home action plan. Usual medications are; Seretide 250 2 puffs twice

Daughter in intensive care
My daughter has just turned 13 and she has had asthma all her life. For the last 9 years she has been under a consultant and although shes had many attacks they have been mild and managed by the gp or a&e with a few nebs and steroids. However in Aug 2013 she had an attack that landed her in hospital
