PMR and coronavirus
I’m like most of us that are seniors and have symptoms, thinking I could have this virus. For Almost two weeks now I am intermittently running a low grade fever with normals. I have an intermittent sore throat. Because I fell on my cement patio I injured my shoulder. Been too worried to go to an

I have PMR and possibly GCA. I’ve struggled for almost four years to control my pain and decrease my Prednisone. Adding the drug Actemra has really helped. I am currently down to 4.5mg of Prednisone and 4mg of Actemra by IV once a month. I get headaches off and on all through the month. Some are pretty

Faint & dizzy with GCA
Feel guilty asking about my illness when so many others are so ill throughout the world. But here goes... I'm now on 10 mg prednisone. Actemra was stopped a couple weeks b/c I have a cold. Had Boniva i.v. 10 days ago for osteo. The past 7 days I've had 4 episodes of dizziness, nausea & actually fainted

Has anyone been diagnosed with Lymphoma?
Everything was going ok until my blood test last week. My numbers for crp and esr were good but I now have Lymphomatitis. I am having another blood test in 3 weeks which will find how advanced it is. I want to try natural herbal remedies so am looking for any advice that anyone can share? As of Sunday

My memory is on vacation~~

Actemra, Methotrexate, and the immune system
Getting actemra infusions about every six weeks along with methotrexate (2X/week). Both are immunosuppresive. Any idea if this places me at more of a risk for things like the coronavirus? My dr. isn't convincing one way or the other. Any feedback appreciated.

Curly hair?
Right now, my memory is not my strong suit~~~but I think I have been on Actemra injections weekly for about three months for GCA, along with Medrol. My hair has gotten a bit thinner, not too bad, but quite curly, ringlets. I was just curious if anyone else had experienced this? Finally, yesterday I

I know that this is a little premature as I still have a long way to go tapering my Prednisone, but does anyone have info on tapering Actemra.

Cold tingling feet with Prednisone and Actemra? (GCA)
Hello, has anyone experienced tingling feet while on prednisone? I mentioned the tingling to my rheumatologist last July, but he didn’t think it was prednisone related. I was on 50 mg prednisone at the time. I am currently on Actemra since late October and doing the DSNS taper protocol - on 8mg trying

On Actemra and 8mg Prednisone....trouble with tapering. Please help!
I started Actemra at the end of October and was on 10mg Prednisone. I was able to taper to 8 mg with good results - first few days of reduction was tough (dull headache, nausea, fatigue) but rallied after that. I have tried to taper to 7.5 three times now; the first time, I lasted 3 days because of a

Has anyone heard of this
I have had PMR 3 years. Could never get below 8 mgs of pred. Took methotrexate and then Actemra with no change. Few months ago my new rheumie prescribed hydroxychloroquine 200 mgs. It is a drug that prevents and treats malaria of all things but I have also read tat it is used as a steroid sparing drug

What are the expected effects of tapering?
I'm going at about half-speed today~~better than yesterday. After almost five months on high methylpred in December started tapering. I also do weekly injections of Actemra. The first taper from 64 per day to 32 I felt nothing, from 32 to 24 I had a period of a few days where I was uncomfortable and

Surgery successfully next step actemra
BCC surgery successfully completed. Dr says if no sign of infection in incision, in 1 more week I should start Actemra. There's alot of negative things about Actemra, including heart issues and increased skin cancer risk. I'm at 25 mg prednisone now and feeling pretty good. Not losing weight anymore
