Time between Radical Prostatectomy and Metastatis
Hi there, As my dad is about to start treatment (Radiation and hormone therapy) I’m feeling anxious and sad. He has no outward signs of being ill and it’s surreal that a psa score and scan showing one spot on his spine now has him at stage 4 and about to put his body through treatments that will make

Prostatectomy in June 2018
New to the group. Biopsy in April 2018 showed cancer in prostate, Gleeson score of 8. Radical prostatectomy in June 2018. Post surgery pathology showed positive margins and cancer in lymph node, left groin area. Quarterly PSA tests since surgery remain below 0.02. Doc is suggesting possible radiation

Which Vitamin b complex?
I am looking for a good vitamin b complex supplement. I struggle swallowing tablets though. I saw one on here called Igennus super b which is supposed to be small but looking online it says they measure 10mm diameter which seems quite big to me. I know I wouldn’t be able to swallow them if that’s the

Are massages ok
I’m thinking about maybe a lymphatic massage and wondered if anyone has had one, is it safe in our condition. Had radical hysterectomy with other bits out as well so my cut is from under my ribs to my lower area, I’m just over 3 months post op, not sure how long I can lie on my tummy though, has anyone

Sleep at last
Hello folks, 3 months ago I began a cleaner eating regime. I cut out sugar, artificial sweetners, gluton, caffiene, tap water. I more than doubled the amount of fruit and veg, filter my drinking water and try to buy unprocessed foods. I did a bit of research and try to include foods which support my thyroid

CA125 update
Hi, just wanted to share today’s news. I’ve been getting a lot of tummy pains, likely still post-op (surgery last July) so I had an ultrasound which shows what they think is a cyst, had a ct scan and waiting on results but had bloods done and my CA125 is 3 x so relieved, just hoping the ct scan results

Active Surveillance & Delayed Prostatectomy
New study below. Active surveillance [AS] has been heavily promoted, but eligible men continue to opt for treatment in large numbers. AS would be more attractive if there was no downside, but between a quarter & a third of men will progress while on AS. Common sense would suggest that a cure might

TAKE-HOME MESSAGE •This study assessed data from 1264 patients undergoing salvage radiation therapy (RT) after radical prostatectomy (RP) at eight referral centers to understand the role and optimal duration of androgen-deprivation therapy (ADT) in this setting. Methyl Donor Micronutrients that Modify DNA Methylation and Cancer Outcome.
New paper below [1]. However, details in the full text. Great to see a U.S. interest in the subject of aberrant DNA methylation in cancer & the dietary micronutrients that contribute to that. In my posts I tend to focus on folate (from foliage) & folic acid (from fortified grain products or supplements
