Sulforaphane to lower PSA?
Hi all, curious here if anyone onboard has had any positive
PSA
lowing results, (in the 40-60 mg doses), especially it is interesting in the Ultra-ranges, using ‘Sulforaphane’, a suppliment that uses the certain positive extracts of raw broccoli, there apparently are some good indicators of it being

PSA testing comparison question
So fast forward to this past week and I needed more blood work for
PSA
and T in preparation for my quarterly call with Dr Kishan in 2 days (Tuesday), so I went to my primary care doctors office for the blood work.

Would I be on thin ice if I tried adaptive ADT this soon?
I have low volume
PSA
as it only peaked at 2.2. Thoughts are welcome -

Psa doubled in less than a month
After giving time for the
PSA
to settle I had a test which showed that it doubled in close to 3 months. In preparation for a CT and bone scan to see if there is progression I had blood work done today and figured I might as well have a
PSA
test as well.

Five years later
My
PSA
has not moved since, and is still undetectable after no treatment since May 2023. My testosterone has not yet returned, and may never come back, but I feel a lot better in my head. My body is however going through a strange phase of weight gain all of a sudden.

Fears confirmed
It’s been 4 mos since my annual checkup said my
PSA
had doubled from 3.2 to about 6.4 in a year. Just an aside before my real info: I know PC grows very slow and I’ve been told that’s even true of some of the most aggressive(?)

Just some good news
His
PSA
continues to drop and yesterdays PSMA PET scan showed a marked decrease in all the cancer spots with many now undetectable. Bless you all for the support you have shown me and each other as we navigate this horrible disease. Life is good!

High volume, advanced metastatic prostate cancer
When the
PSA
started to rise, his medication was switched up, a petscan was done and it demonstrated a partial response to cancer, with no advancement of the cancer and as our MO said it was still asleep and not growing.

PSMA PET Scan????
Also pre treatment cough has returned, (was diagnosed with lung mets as well as bone and lymph node). No scans have been ordered, and seems as though they are only monitoring my
PSA
levels, and will be "Reactionary" rather than "Proactive". Never a mention of ordering a PSMA PET scan. Why is that?

Options when Docetaxel stops working
His
PSA
was 52 at the time of his diagnosis. He went on Lupron and Abiraterone which took his
PSA
to .03 and kept it low until Oct 2022. It went to 8.9 and his doctor put him on Docetaxel chemo. His
PSA
has continued to rise and his oncologist has kept him on this chemo. His
PSA
is now 48.

Orgovyx + Abiaterone?
I have very high risk prostate cancer (Gleason 9, negative PSMA for spread, MRI suggests possible spread to seminal vessel,
PSA
in 7s before treatment).

Do I need 6th Pluvicto infusion? PSA undetectable for 6 months.
PSA
undetectable (<0.02) since June (it was 0.31 in early May when accepted into trial with relatively low burden PSMA-avid lesions). Aug 4 CT/bone scans showed significant reductions in size and activity of lesions (prior to 3rd treatment).

Treatment going forward
PSA
remains about 3.4. Total of 9/30 positive mostly 3+4=7 20% pattern 4. PSMA PET/CT reports focal uptake at left posterior margin of prostate non-specific possibly correlating with primary imaging. Max SUV is 3.4.

Trimix with atrial fibrillation meds
My
PSA
has been negligible since then. I was discharged from the hospital yesterday, after an arterial flutter, my first heart problem ever. I was discharged with amiodarone (Pacerone), apixaban (Eliquis), losartan (Cozaar), and metropol succinate XL (Toprol XL), at least temporarily.

Question for my father
I had my prostate removed 2 years ago at MSK and have recovered well with a still undetectable
PSA
. I’m writing for advice on my 91 yo father. He was recently found to have bone metastases throughout his skeleton.
PSA
is in the 70s.

Unsure of best option in early prostate cancer diagnosis.
I have had
PSA
tests annually for 10 years and in Oct 2023 had an elevated 6.42 result. Was referred to a urologist, whom performed a DRE. There was prostate enlargement but no tumor discovered through DRE. After discussing several options, I decided to have a biopsy on Nov 21, 2023.
