It's been almost three years battling the Beast and my treatments have been Zytiga, Xgeva, Eligard, and
Provenge
infusions still on them and don't intend to change unless Doc says so. Never give up never surrender. Leo

Tales of the Stupid Phoenix Bird.
Provenge
is cancelled, ports are out and I'm on antibiotics trying to calm down my wild immune cells that were supposed to fight cancer by now.

I had the
provenge
treatment 3 months ago. Not a bad experience at all. The only hard part is having to sit still for 4 hours. The cost was $170,000. Over the course of 27 years, I figure the cancer has cost somewhere in the neighborhood of a million dollars.

Moving on to Xtandi
I finished my 3 infusions of
Provenge
3 months ago. Others here believe that having
Provenge
and xofigo is beneficial. After 37 months of post chemo, the time has come for secondary ADT treatment. Can anyone tell me how long Xtandi last until it fails? Wishing everyone good health.

Update on my Dad: 4 months since last PSA and Provenge
He started
Provenge
in late January and was able to complete two rounds successfully before his oncologist terminated his treatment due to the virus! He has since had another Lupron shot and another PSA testing. His results came in today and he's at .33, a .07 increase in over 4 months.

Why hasn't MO recommended Provenge? Ideas? He has extensive bone mets (is that it?)Almost no pain. Also 2 questions - clinical trial and PET
On reading, maybe I'm wrong, but it looks to me like his general condition might indicate
Provenge
could work for him. The description says he should have no or minimal pain, and he doesn't. He has no known visceral involvement according to CT and bone scans. He is getting genetic studies.

Trying to Make Sense of Husbands Testosterone History and Wanting to Clarify Why a Doctor Feels He May Be Becoming CR.
It seemed strange to be to have
Provenge
recommended at this stage when the only medication Charlie has ever had are Lupron and 30 days of Bicalutamide. Having said that, Charlie takes 2500 mg of Metformin.

Discontinuing Provenge in lieu of Covid 19; 2 out of 3 treatments.. still effective?
My dad and I were set to go to Cleveland today for his final
Provenge
treatment. However he received a call last night from Dendreon (the lab that makes
Provenge
) that his cells did not meet quality standards and would not be shipped.

Immunotheraphy and Covid-19?
Interested in thoughts about those of us in active treatment with Immunotheraphy drugs, ie: checkpoint inhibitors Blockade,
Provenge
?, Have my own thoughts and those of my own Oncologist that states very high risk of unfavorable response should infection occur..but basically" no Data"..stay safe.

The hits just keep on coming along with 4 new mets.
Mets, and it seems like there are many of you that have lived for years and have many options according to my doc today said it's very limited to clinical trials and chemo for your type cancer which has a low likely hood of sucess 30 to 40% then I mention a combo that was recommended on this forum

Treatment options for 82 year old
We are in the UK so
Provenge
isn't on the NHS but wonder if this may be the only option to consider as he would most likely have the same issues if he undertook chemo? Thanks

Zytiga failed now xtandi. PSA rise after only a few short months from 1.5 to 0.08 now 0.4. Moving on up
I realize docetaxel is a viable option as well as
provenge
and perhaps clinical trials. Although it all seems a bit darker and less hopeful that I have months to live rather than years. I have a fear of chemo even though it ssems like some of you seemingly breeze through it.

Provenge Advice
PSA climbed to 2.1 in Dec. 2019 and Oncologist suggested
Provenge
before we consider Zytiga or another second tier drug. I was just notified that insurance has approved the
Provenge
treatment. It seems I am going with the catheter approach for the collection and infusion (difficult veins).

What to do next for treatment
He mentioned also Radium 223 which he wasn't a big fan of (doesn't follow PSA or CT scans for that matter) and
Provenge
which he said was more for slow growing cancer. I am 73 now just looking for answers.
