Prostatectomy

Had appt and the urologist seemed to he trying to persuade me to have prostatectomy although I was clear at diagnosis no surgery primarily due to incontinence issues.He said permanent incontinence occurred in less than 5% of cases, I disagreed and said 10/15% is nearer the mark am I correct?

I have had both a prostatectomy and salvage radiation (see profile). I regained continence after the prostatectomy. But about 6 months after the salvage radiation I started leaking due to stress incontinence and it has gotten progressively worse.

Situation: 8/2022: Hubby (56) DX Prostate Cancer 4+ 3= 7, 11/2022 prostatectomy Gleason , T3a and Intraductal Carcinoma....Somatic ATM and TP53BP1. Decipher .98 No further treatment at that time. May 2023, PSA <.05 , November 2023 PSA <.05, May 2024 PSA 1.6.

After radical prostatectomy and radiation treatment, I’m now on ORGOVYX and my testosterone has decreased from 672 to 11. I’ll be coming off the medication in one month. If anyone has used ORGOVYX, do you stop cold turkey or is there a tapering off of the drug? Thank you.

Hello allI'm 12 weeks in post op since my successful robotic prostatectomy for prostate cancer. I'm recovering generally, very well. Incontinence is getting a lot better now. Down to using a small pad.

Scheduled for robotic prostatectomy, but before it Uro gave me four shots of Fermagon. Uro surgeon plan was to shrink prostate size before surgery. Original size 7.43x5.61x5.97cm and volume 130.3mg. After four months of HT prostate size 5.91x 5.0x4.12 cm and volume 63.7ml.

I had a Radical Prostatectomy in 03/2023 leakage resolved. I didn’t have radiation as much as I was waiting to do so on prostate bed tumor growing, medical oncologist kept wanting me to wait.

Dx 2015 Gleason 7, prostatectomy 2015, seminal vessel invasion one side, fast forward 3 years recurrence and 39 sessions of radiation to prostate bed and back to PSA undetectable.

ART= adjuvant radiation therapy, within 6 months after radical prostatectomy (RP) early SRT= salvage radiation therapy, after PSA ≥ 0.1ng/ml or 3 consecutive rises. Median was 0.2 ng/ml. Median 1 ½ years after RP.

Methods We retrospectively analyzed 62 patients with a GS of 4+4 on prostate biopsy who underwent robotic radical prostatectomy between 2017 and 2022. Results 38 of 62 (61.2%) were downgraded.

My urologist and medical oncologist advised against radiation and prostatectomy, opting instead for the standard of care. I initially started with Lupron injections (every 3 months) and Erleada. Several months later, my oncologist transitioned me from Lupron to Orgovyx (Relugolix).

We met today with radiologist and oncologist and we were given 3 options: SBRT to the active parts of the prostate and the rib, HDR Brachytherapy to prostate and SBRT to rib or Prostatectomy surgery of prostate and SBRT to the rib. Please, please help us decide what treatment is best.

I went down this path because my prostatectomy surgeon, who is very well respected in the field (200+ papers) and has performed over 5000 surgeries, is recommending I consider going on TRT with my testosterone levels in the mid 200s. (My surgery was in Nov 2023. 4+3.

I had a robotic radical prostatectomy three months ago. In the first few weeks after surgery, my urine was clear, but then I started showing blood on my pads during walks. This has continued ever since and I'm now at 12 weeks after surgery. These are pink spots, not clots.

hello. I Had surgery June 13 2023 biopsy showed Gleason 8. Psa 13 perineal invasion seminal vesicle invasion post surgery pathology Gleason 7. First two ultra sensitive psa came back with less than symbol 0.02. Then my last ultra sensitive psa came back 0.02 without the less than symbol. Is this something

For those that have had a prostatectomy out of state, who did most of the follow-up? Did you have a local urologist too? I suspect a local urologist would be hesitant to follow up on a patient whom had his surgery done by someone else.

My friend had robotic prostatectomy in May 2019. In the almost 5 years since he has experienced daily abdominal pain. He has seen numerous doctors but none of them have been able to diagnose the source of the pain. He is an invalid due to this problem. Does anyone else know of a similar case?
