Biologic treatment for severe uncontrolled asthma
The
Prednisone
and doxycycline helped get over the attack. I've had one refill of the doxycycline which helped. What should I do? Ask for more doxy? Culture the sputum? Try to get the biologic treatment? Thanks for listening.

Has anyone tried pulsed electric magnetic field therapy for PMR relief?
At this rate, I'll be on
prednisone
for a long, long time. So wondering if anyone has tried alternative treatments to try to get off
prednisone
sooner rather than later. I've researched both low-dose naltrexone and the magnetic field devices.

painful shoulders after dead slow taper to 2mg.
I’ve finally managed to get to 2.25mg
prednisone
on a slow taper taking a month for 0.25mg drop. I also take Leflonamide which was doubled to 20mg a month ago to deal with probable RA in my hands. (Pain and swelling. It has helped). I’m diabetic due to steroids.

Or do i need a longer course of

Rheumatologist Pred Taper Schedule
I was diagnosed with likely GCA this past April and am currently taking 40 mg
prednisone
and 15 mg weekly of methotrexate. My last blood work in May showed inflammation markers were within normal range.

Metabolic changes from prednisone
I have been on
prednisone
since July of 2021. Several failed attempts to taper but am presently at 3 mgs after changing diet dramatically. Had blood tests a month ago and cholesterol is one third higher than normal range.

question
Does anyone get a pulsating sensation in their head on
prednisone
? I keep getting like my heartbeat really loud thumping in my head , sometimes it causes a headache but not always, yesterday I was just sitting and it started, I got dots all over my eyes then most mornings and evenings it starts.

February rheumatologist got involved and started me on 20mg
prednisone
, I’m now on 10mg , my pleural effusions have practically gone pericardial almost I’m getting another ct scan next month which will hopefully show the decrease if not none existent inflammation.

Pain in Left Eye
Hi Kind Friends, I am currently on 12.5 mg
prednisone
(tapering from 60 in Oct.) and weekly Actemra injections (about 4 months) Double vision from high
prednisone
has resolved as I have tapered. Occasionally I feel pain in my left eye, in the outer lower corner.

Hypertension Stage 2, need advice.
I am seriously considering stopping the abiraterone and
prednisone
. It just does not seem worth the risk, especially as I had brothers who died at 51, and 63 of heart issues. My psa has been undetectable for going on 6 years.

PMR / Prednisone
It was around the time just before I stopped taking
prednisone
that I was diagnosed with prostate cancer (low level fortunately) and am receiving radiation therapy.

Down to 2mg
Looking forward I hope my body can continue to adjust to zero
prednisone
by the end of July 2024. I have to suppress my strong urges to drop quicker now that I’m reaching the end.

trying to taper prednisone
Of course the rheumy wants me off
prednisone
. I had a recent cortisol level which was low so I’m off to an endo now. Problem is I did a bit of washing and folding clothes when babysitting my grandsons for the night.

Steroid induced diabetes
I was diagnosed with diabetes shortly after being put on
Prednisone
for PMR. It definitely changed my eating habits but I was able to control it with few carbs and more exercise. I was told that it might clear out as I taper off the steroids.

Is DGL licorice and prednisone contraindicated?
I have gastritis that was diagnosed well before being put on
prednisone
but now nearly 2 years on
prednisone
my gastritis is a bit more symptomatic and was looking into taking DGL licorice to heal my gut as an alternative to PPI's and H2 blockers, but Google is saying I shouldn't mix
