How I reinvented my life after GCA.
I’m only on Actemra which helped give me my life back but if I had to back on
prednisone
I would. I at least know a little more to expect. Good luck to all of you and keep going. It will be ok.

Flare while tapering--need guidance
I have been on
prednisone
for about 2 1/2 years. I recently got down to 8 mg a day for about 3 months with NO PAIN (oh the bliss...). I went to 7.5 mg about 3 1/2 weeks ago and am having a major flare.

headache in middle of forehead.
I have no jaw involvement and my esr and crp have always been normal even before starting
prednisone
., but the headaches are still “coming and going”. Does anyone have any thoughts?

curious!
I am doing so well on
prednisone
6mg. I can’t believe the difference after being tapered too quickly and being on only Advil. I have latent TB and have to start a medication for that for 4 months. Apparently, this med will decrease the effects of
prednisone
! Ugh! Any thoughts?

Do exacerbations follow exacerbations?
I've now been to doctor and on 5 days of
prednisone
and a week of antibiotics. Before my time in hospital, I'd never even been on an inhaler! I'm now worried that every time I get a cold it's going to become an emergency...

Polymyalgia and Rheumatoid arthritis
Over a period of about 7 years I managed to come off
prednisone
but after a time the PMR returned. Since 2022 I have managed to get down to 7mg daily and then have a flare. Back to 10 down to 8 and another flare.

Been at 1 mg prednisone for a week
Since going on meth and hydroxy, been able to steadily drop
prednisone
. Everything feels reasonably ok except for occasional morning stiffness which is odd as I dont feel stiff when I get up during the night like around 3 or 4 am.

Update:whats going on
I wasn't this bad on
prednisone
and I really don't want to go back on it either. It's confusing as paracetamol helps albeit temporarily. GP and rheumatologist at odds over fibromyalgia and PMR. Been a 2.5 yr health battle thus far and still no conclusion.

PSA increase nearly one year after triplet therapy (mHSPC), what's next?
He unfortunately couldn't reach a <1 result but it had stabilized for a few months after his docetaxel + zytiga +
prednisone
. Unfortunately his new result is 67 PSA exactly a year since diagnosis.

Chinese Medicine?
I know that
Prednisone
is the only known way to alleviate sympoms (though not effect a cure) and that PMR takes as long as it takes. Any thoughts...?

Insufficiency Fracture - likely cause - Prednisilone
She recommend a knee replacement, but is concerned that the
prednisone
would interfere with the success of the replacement process and has referred me to both a knee surgeon and rheumatology. I wonder if anybody else has experienced this situation?

My son’s PSA rose a bit today.
His Mayo doctor told him to continue to test every three months, stay on current meds Lupron, Abiraterone/
prednisone
for another year and two months then stop meds and wait and see with lifetime testing. He had an RP last October 24 2022 for what we thought was contained prostate cancer .

Itching due to medication??
Hello, I had a liver transplant 3 years ago and take tacrolimus, mycophenolate and
prednisone
for anti rejection. I have recently had a very itchy localised rash on my neck which I have been treating with hydrocortisone cream. This is having no effect.
