Just starting the journey…..
She diagnosed PMR and started me on 15mg of
Prednisone
. This really did not much and I was back to her in a few days. She discussed GCA and started me on 50mg of
prednisone
and referred me to a Rheumatologist. I was lucky to get in to see him in a few days as my levels were alarming!

pmr symptoms
Currently on 15 mg
prednisone
down from orininal 20 mg for pmr diagnosis. Don’t hear others talk about pain in this area and wondering if it’s part of pmr or if something else is going on. Have talked with my gp about the possibility of developing Gca. She doesn’t think so.

Kaiser Xtandi follow up post.
Xtandi is back on my formulary and zytiga-
prednisone
are gone now. Had me scared, trying to think of how I would have to try to manage
prednisone
, but all that is history now. Big relief from hefty anxiety that began back before Christmas .

Quite the CLL journey
End of 2023 extreme decline, many tests, reveal CLL transformation to Richters. 5 days of high dose
Prednisone
works wonders. Oncologist places me on Pirtobrutinib that also works to arrest disease. No real side effects.

When PMR Goes Away
If you do some research, you quickly learn it isn’t quite that simple but that the
prednisone
will help you manage the effects of the PMR as you give it some time to do it’s nasty trip through your system.

Curious about thin-skinned ears---Prednisone?
Just the other day, I wondered if it was from almost five years of
prednisone
; still on 2mg and TCZ. Do I have any mates with red ears? 👂🏼💞

Hospital and large doses of Prednisone??
During my first visit with Rheumatologist, I asked how to handle symptoms if they returned during tapering. I suggested that I go back to the last dosage that worked plus some, as I have read here. She said no, that I should go to Emergency at the hospital with the thought that they would inject me with

Sciatica and numbness in leg.
Suggestion that increase in Steroids
prednisone
might be helpful. ? I am currently on 10mg having tapered again recently. Just wondered whether anyone else had been prescribed this. ? and if it worked at all ?

Tapering Regime while on Kevzara (or other biologic)
I am grateful I was allowed to try Kevzara after 9 years on
prednisone
and never being able to get below 5 mg without a flare amongst other reasons. I have tried to look up the tapering regime for attempting a taper with this new biologic.

Is This Normal??
Is it normal after nearly 5 years on ADT + Zytig,
Prednisone
, and Xgeva, to have constant "Flu-Like" symptoms, (sans a fever)? Some days, everything hurts, legs hurt at night , feel like my blood is boiling while I try to sleep. Are these "side effects" or just part of the advanced cancer?

Frequent Eye Prescription Changes and Cataract Surgery
I started on 60 MG
Prednisone
and have tapered to 5.5 mg since then using DSNS. I have had vision problems almost from the start -- blurry vision mostly, but now I have significant cataracts -- AND I've had to change my prescription 4 times since AUG 22.

GCA or Occipital Neauralgia
Rheumatologist prescribed 50mg of
prednisone
after a while to be gradually reduced. I’m now on 6mg and not feeling to good. had a blood test a few weeks ago and my blood markers were good. My rheumatologist referred me to a neurologist because he thought I may have occipital neauralgia.
