Well that's annoying.
I've been getting and keeping intense headaches over the last 6 days. I went to Dr's last night and my blood pressure was 170 Systolic! They don't seem to bother or report the Diastolic reading here. So, meds prescribed and picked up this morning, along with a replacement BP monitor and Potassium

Potassium Deficiency From Steroid Therapy
I recently suffered from hypokalemia (potassium deficiency) as a result of methylprednisolone therapy for PMR, and required approximately 4500 mg of potassium each day to prevent muscle fatigue and cardiac arrhythmia. In an attempt to achieve this number, I carried a card in my pocket and itemized the

DaT Scan side effects
I've had a DaT Scan earlier this week and as a result I have a slight swelling of my neck where the thyroid is, also a slight discomfort in swallowing. I spoke to the doctor at the Nuclear Medicine department where I had the scan and he said that's due to the pills I took to protect the thyroid against

Sole water
As adrenals are supposed to love salt, has anybody tried sole water in an effort to heal tired adrenals. Paragraph from website savorylotus.com states....... Let’s begin by noting that I am not talking about table salt here, which is made up of only sodium and chloride. What I am talking about is combining

Iodine Excess as an Environmental Risk Factor for Autoimmune Thyroid Disease
I have long been extremely cautious about the use of iodine in relation to thyroid disorders. Yet many people point out the high intake of iodine in Japan and suggest doses of as high as 50 milligrams a day. So it is particularly interesting that this paper originates in Japan and cautions about iodine

What is the treatment for Sweet's syndrome?
The main form of treatment for Sweet's syndrome is the steroid (corticosteroid), prednisone. After steroids, first-line treatments include colchicine and potassium iodide. They can be given instead of or alongside steroid medication. Second-line treatments include indomethacin, clofazimine, ciclosporin

Thyroidectomy without potassium iodide? Still feel awful with 'in range' results. And how can I raise my TSH? Any great graves' endos?
Okay so I was wondering if anyone had a thyroidectomy without the iodide before? I've read it doesn't make a lot of difference but will I find a surgeon to agree?! My bloods haven't changed & endo won't check antibodies to see if they're coming down :( TSH <0.05mIU/L RANGE 0.4-5.0 FREE T4 12pmol/L
