Penicillamine

I have just had a phone review and they have now decided to start me on penicillamine. I don’t know much about this drug however from what I’ve read, it is not prescribed much anymore due to toxicity! They told me they’re running out of options for me.

antibiotics (ciprofloxacin, moxifloxacin, tetracycline, doxycycline, minocycline), blood pressure medications, calcium channel blockers (aamlodipine, diltiazem, felodipine, verapamil), diabetes medications, digoxin, diuretics, fluoroqinones, hormone replacement therapy, labetol, levomethadyl, levothyroxine, penicillamine

Still cannot get anywhere. Need help. Does anybody know if Guys Hospital have any ?

Hi is anybody having trouble getting penicillamine ?

Is this normal for everyone taking Penicillamine.

Dermatomyositis may be induced by medications, including hydroxyurea, penicillamine, interferon beta, and ipilimumab. Acute onset / flares of dermatomyositis have been reported in association with ingestion of IsaLean, an herbal supplement.

if not I AM OUT OF OPTIONS ONLY Penicillamine left. Vague plan to return to work on reduced hours either Feb15th or following week?. Boss rang me at 6pm yesterday with an idea??!!! use my annual leave to makerup hours not worked??am I MISSING SOMETHING??

I'm suggesting a mix of Lef and penicillamine. After all, I've only got to wait three months to find out if that works and if not then I'll have no choice but to go for the biologicals.

Names include methotrexate, penicillamine and hydroxychloroquine. As with steroids, they are reserved for severe cases as they do have side-effects and you will need close monitoring with blood tests while you are taking them.
