Pegasys

I have PV and have been on Pegasys 135 mcg for 5 months. Could this be a side effect of the Pegasys, or would it mean my PV is getting worse. I'm very worried while I wait for my hemtologist to get back to me, it's the holidays now so he's not there.

My only symptom is fatigue due to the anaemia, which seems to be improving, not had any Pegasys injections for four weeks. Spleen normal. Other than that I’ve never had any symptoms, so I’m well puzzled.

i am just stated the combo treatment of Jakafi 20mg twice perday + Pegasys 135mcg weekly for PV and it success to reduce my PLT from 1.2mi to 300k; HCT from 47 to 41,3; WBC from 27 to 16 and HGB from 18 to 14. does anyone with same treatment can share their experience with this combo...? 

Besremi is different from Pegasys at this circled area. Bes has this single attachment point, PEG has several and they vary. This difference is what Besremi claims as their improvement, the attachment is always the same and gives more consistent effects.

(Pegasys) is absorbed much more slowly and does not reach a steady-state until 4–6 weeks after starting therapy.

Since starting Pegasys about a year ago I've found that I struggle to drink alcohol anymore. I've never drunk heavily (would drink on average twice a week, and up to 2 glasses of wine or a few beers per time) but since starting interferon, even drinking just 1 glass of wine is unpleasant!

The Hematologist is looking into our insurance coverage for Besremi or Pegasys. He tried the HU a second time after problems last week just to make sure it was really from the meds.

My Dr wrote my Peg to be given every 2 weeks. I have had 2, so far, 90mcg, then 70 mcg. Yesterday, my HCT was up from 39.9 to 43.7 in a span of 10 days. I figured it was up because of the redness in my skin. Platelets are at 881 and white cells at 15. Everything is up, so I decided to not wait 2 weeks

I'm having such problems with anemia, currently 90 (US .9), it's been drifting down ever since I've been on pegasys, I'm so tired of being tired!

I would appreciate a recommendation for a ‘cool bag’ in which to store Pegasys jabs that I simply can’t deter from accompanying me on holiday. The rural Inn where I’ve chosen to stay does not supply a personal room fridge.

I have seen erratic liver enzyme levels while attempting to transition from hydroxyurea to Pegasys. I'm not convinced that the Peg is the cause of the issue but my Dr has stopped the Peg and I’m back to 2g of HU with platelets at about 1400 and increasing at a good pace. It is not good.

I'm due to give myself my 2nd dose today. My CNS advised that it's got to be taken weekly and within an hour of the first dose. My first dose was 15:15. I note that the general advise on here is to do the injection on an evening. So I'm wondering if it would be ok for me to move my time by a half hour

Update/ I took my second Pegasys yesterday evening. I sweat ALL night long. I feel fatigued and so weak. Also had a headache and some nausea last night. I have planted myself on the couch, today, and am depending on my husband to keep refilling my water glass.

I was on pegasys(max dose) for 3 years with hydrea and now on besremi since April with titration of hydrea. Since off hydrea my numbers have been creeping up. I think I'm one of those that are semi-resistant to interferons. Can you continue to use hydrea with besremi?
