hi, after being on a week of pred for suspected asthma and not much improvement on peak flow , which is 350, today doctor gave me an ecg , no further asthma treatment and referring me to hospital for second opinion . I'm left worrying what may be wrong as she said she doesnt know! has this happened to any of you? Can it take a while to get a diagnosis?

Hi i had the same problem. my asthma was treated as a part of hayfever and never as two different things. go for the e.c.g but get a second opinion.
i never did that and used the mild dose inhalers till now as its out of control - but the gp now classified it chronic asthma! took me a long while.
