Flecainide and Dilitiazem. What are your side effects?
Two weeks ago started taking 50mg of Flecainide twice a day plus 120mg of time release Dilitiazem once a day. Ablation under general anesthesia with obstructive sleep apnea
Hi everybody, If someone has sleep apnea, is it it safe to undergo an RF Afib ablation under general anesthesia? Especially if the patient doesn’t have or use CPAP?

Can you have thyroidectomy For repeated Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis??
Hello I’ve posted recently re issues with moving from hypo to hyper. I have just had a thyroid ultrasound and it was described as ‘abnormal’ and a ‘very poorly thyroid’ and as I suspected is Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis. The entire surface was marked not smooth and too much blood flow. My recent bloods

Are these results reliable considering that I did not cease taking B complex a week before the blood test?
Hi all here are the blood results for my thyroid blood test on 15 November 21. Sample was taken at 11 30 am. Did not take any thyroid meds on day of test only drank water. Unfortunately, I did not stop taking B complex a week before the blood test. TSH 0.5. 0.27 - 4.2 T4 19.5 12 - 22.

Stroke on Apixaban
I was taking Apixaban for paroxysmal AF after a catheter ablation several years ago, which mostly cured me of the debilitating bouts of AF which I was suffering. The paroxysmal AF was hard for me to notice but detected by a monitor, and 'self terminating', so I declined Flecainide as I didn't fancy

ADT CHOICES
I'm on Firmagon once a month and it's working fine. The only problem is that I feel like garbage for 2 or 3 days after the shot. Is there any difference in effectiveness if I had a 6 month shot of Lupron or Eligard?

Raised heart rate on amiodorome
I am a 72 year old woman who was very fit and healthy until two months ago I was diagnosed with paroxsymal AF. I had an ablation in January that left me with atrial flutter. Now, a few weeks later, I am on Amiodorome - really strong - 600mh a day and my heart rate us still of over 90. Any experience

BACK INTO SINUS RHYTHM WITH A METRONOME
I have had paroximal atrial fibrillation for seven years, probably once a month, with HR around 150 for many hours. Over the years I have experimented all possible methods for stopping AF, including electrical tragus stimulation, slow breathing, alternate nostril breathing, swallowing big mouthfuls

Thyroidless
Almost 12 years ago I had surgery to remove an adenoma on my parathyroid gland. The surgeon not only removed 2 1/2 parathyroid glands but also did a complete thyroidectomy. There was no cancer. The surgeon said my thyroid was small and fragile (I suspect he didn't know what he was doing. I live in

I jinxed myself 3 months after ablation with EP Doc yesterday!
Im a newbie and retired paramedic here. After years of meds for paroxysmal afib which I have had 10 years I finally had to be cardioverted after an unusual 36 hour afib episode in ER. I am always bradycardic my entire life of 60 years running in the 40's. But 3 months ago HR was up in 220-240. It dropped

AFib causes BP to skyrocket
Hello, BP is in normal range and as soon as AFib starts it shoots up with readings of aprox 175/69, dangerously close to stage 3 bp crisis. When AFib stops the BP settles down immediately. High blood pressure was diagnosed long before AFib and it was managed successfully with meds. Now with AFib the

Lisinopril and Lipitor
I have high blood pressure and Afib. I had an MRI on my brain and the doctor found I have had a couple of strokes. Thankfully they made my left side numb, but nothing more. I take 20mg of lisinopril a day and 80mg of Lipitor. I am continually nauseated, and my leg muscles are weak. I feel off balance

Afib with no symptoms
Are you my twin brother? you are almost exactly like me, but I "got" afib at 64. I am in my 70's now and don't run much anymore, ( i started running in 1983) but hike nearly everyday. I had CV done...twice...but soon went back to afib. I take warfarin everyday, and will for the rest of my life

About this slow heart rate
I've been a long time sufferer of persistent afib I've had the usual ablations anti arrhythmia drugs and settled quite well with rate control meds till about 8 months ago My worry is that my heart rate dips down into low 40s even 30s day and night as soon as I start doing something it will rise a bit

Links between pernicious anaemia and kidney function?
Hi all, I have pernicious anaemia which is treated with 12 weekly injections... I've recently had some blood tests as part of a pre op as I'm having a total thyroidectomy next month. The results flagged up that my kidneys were out of "normal range" (low egfr & urea, and high creatinine) My creatinine
