Afib with no symptoms

Are you my twin brother? you are almost exactly like me, but I "got" afib at 64. I am in my 70's now and don't run much anymore, ( i started running in 1983) but hike nearly everyday. I had CV done...twice...but soon went back to afib. I take warfarin everyday, and will for the rest of my life....so the doctor says. My cardiologists and family doctors, both agree to continue to exercise and to cut back on caffeine, as I also have essential tremors. I take my B/P everyday and average 117 / 77 and bpm of 60 to 90...but average of 72. Since afib I have also hiked Mt. Whitney and ran, slowly, a half marathon, as well as 5 and 10k runs. Living in San Diego has been great for outdoor exercise, so I consider myself lucky to live there. I also have cut back on alcohol to only one beer a day, and have found several low or no alcohol beers to my liking. And feel better for it. In summary...do what feels best for you. You could live another 40 years!

Thanks, Zee. Examples of how an active life can be lived with AFib give hope and encouragement -- important factors in coping with the condition.
