Can change in my levothyroxin tablet product or dose cause me dizziness, internal heat, feeling sick and missing my steps on the stairs.
I had my total thyroidectomy done and was fine on 100mcg of levothyroxin for 4 years. Later, I have to change my levothyroxin product because it was unavailable in the area I moved to in the UK. I immediately started having motion sickness in the car with the new product. Later, each time I wake up in

Why TSH alone should not be used again - another bit of science

Tirosint
Its been 10.5 months since my thyroidectomy. I was at .69 TSH on levothyroxine 100 mgs a day with mega side effects. Doctors just switched me Tirosint 88 mgs a day. Am I to expect more serious changes, again. I lost my voice, got chubby, lost hair, aged, and more. Its been a life-changing experience

Mounjaro for weight gain after thyroidectomy
Hello! I am 4 months post op from a TT. I have definitely put on weight, about 25 pounds. MY endocrinologist told me to be mindful and watch my diet and exercise. I think it is a little more complicated than this when it comes to thyroid imbalance. My GP disagrees with my endo, saying that a little

Has anyone whose tried T3 and NDT felt better on just T4?
A little bit of history - thyroidectomy aged 21. More or less fine on just T4 for 20 plus years. I then saw an Endo about parathyroid issues in 2018 at which point he suggested ERFA because he felt lots of my symptoms were related to my thyroid and T3 conversion. Since then I’ve tried many different

How does synthetic t4 convert to the active t3 after a thyroidectomy?
Is it the same place & way if one still has their thyroid? Ie. When you all note that hormones given replace the thyroid, not top it up if the thyroid is still in place, does it then not matter if one has a thyroid for this mechanism? (Not discussing taking anyone's thyroid without obvious dire need

Conundrum
Hello all, I posted many years ago about the rocky journey I've had with my thyroid. It's been 11 years since it went haywire having been perfectly well for 30 years on 100mcg following a thyroidectomy nearly 60 years ago. I am extremely sensitive to levo and can only tolerate small doses. I had been

Post surgery hypothyroid help
Hi all, I messaged a while ago about my experiences after a
partial
thyroidectomy
for a thyroid cyst and I’d really appreciate some advice and opinions again. My surgery was almost two years ago, in July 2022, and I didn’t get much support afterwards.

WHERE TO FROM HERE
Hi. I am 10 months post thyroidectomy. I am well and am on 180ndt a day as a single dose. My GP is telling me he is concerned about such a high dose and feels I am using the NDT as a stimulant to live my active lifestyle. My GP has told me he is worried about me and the 180ndt is as addictive as nicotine

Thyroid blood tests results - Help required
I had a thyroidectomy in 2017. I have had an ongoing battle with GP's over treatment. My latest TSH that my GP tested was 0.07. This was the only test he carried out having refused to test F4 & F3. I was on 75mg T4 & 10mg T3. GP lowered T4 to 50mg against my wishes. Six weeks later I had gained

Endo appointment, T3 results at last and hyperparathyroidism possible
Thanks for your replies to my previous post and also the advice that I should investigate hyperparathyroidism. I saw the endocrinologist today and apparently my July '23 results (which I hadn't been told, and certainly they'd never mentioned they'd do T3) were: TSH: 0.02 (0.27-4.2) T4: 20.5 (12-

The good doctor
I had a GP appointment this morning (double appointment) for a Medication Review. I haven’t had one since pre-Covid when I lived in a different part of the country. I crept into the surgery with fear in my heart as I prepared to explain the ins and outs of NDT. OH came with me as I was in the middle

Weird optical lights/constant bad headache
Hi everyone ❤️ OK for a while now I've been having bad headaches just thought it was apart of everything I've been going through... Struggling with thyroid medication, and being diagnosed with primary hyperparathyroidism. About 3 weeks ago I started seeing weird optical lights and strange light disturbances

I had a total thyroidectomy many years ago no and am on levethyroxine replacement. I have been on 125mcg for years and over the last 6months my TSH levels have been high resulting in my thyroxine replacement dose being increased. many suggestions as to how or why please.
