pacemaker
dependant after pace and ablate, total heart block.Never really thought what would happen if my 2 lead

I was wondering if anyone has opinions on having a
pacemaker
, what the downsides are and if I should rush to have one installed or wait. Thanks.

I have now been given a
pacemaker
and I am in the second week of living with it. I wonder what experiences members have of pacemakers. Thank you.

Yesterday, I asked the cardiologist what had caused me to need a
pacemaker
. I assumed she would say I had a second or third degree block, or SSS. I don't think she had a clue. So far as the consultant was concerned, dropping QRS in a stress test equals need for a
pacemaker
. End of.

Hi I am thinking about doing a 9 hour flight to USA, I have a
pacemaker
fitted in 2022 but haven't seen the cardiology since although I am attached to a base station by my bed at night. Has anyone got any advice on this I would be grateful. I am 76 years old slightly frail.

What is a Pacemaker?
A
pacemaker
is a small device that is placed in the chest to help control abnormal heart rhythms (arrhythmias) Did you know there are many different types of pacemakers, including the leadless
pacemaker
, which is no bigger than a £1 coin!

My husband had a
pacemaker
for 12 years before it needed changing. He had a further 10 years until he was aged 95. an ex- royal navy man he was always full of live until the end. I would recommend a
pacemaker
to anyone it was suitable for. Good luck and good health.

Pacemaker and higher BP?
I am seeing my cardiologist regularly for him to get my meds right after the ablation but this has happened 5 months after the
pacemaker
. I read somewhere that a
pacemaker
can make your blood pressure higher so asking if anyone has had this same experience.

Pacemaker and induction hob
I may need a
pacemaker
plus more interventions. I have an induction hob which I love and would be reluctant to replace. Does anyone have experience of continuing to use an induction hob with a
pacemaker
?

Pacemaker - Infection
Cardio mentioned the possibility of having to remove the
pacemaker
- how likely is that? Would removal involve anaesthesia and/or a hospital stay?
