A pacemaker is a small device that is placed in the chest to help control abnormal heart rhythms (arrhythmias)

Did you know there are many different types of pacemakers, including the leadless pacemaker, which is no bigger than a £1 coin!

A Pace Maker is implanted to the chest, just under the skin with electrodes to the heart. It keeps the heart at the set pace, can be used if you have a very low heart rate etc.
