Dipyridamole didn't work for me
The standard advice for weaning off DAs only mentions using
opioids
as a last resort. I don't know how I could survive one night, let alone a few months, of no DA (or reduced dose)and no opioid. I'm generally fairly pain-tolerant, but maybe I'm a real baby when it comes to RLS.

Opioids and Paracetamol.
I'm not sure what the alternives are for extra pain relief while on
opioids
, that don't cause more problems. Just passing on my personal experience.

neuropathic pain from paralysed arm (trauma)
Having been to a pain clinic in England which consistent of not medical staff introducing information about
opioids
use, mindfulness and pacing. A lot I had already learned myself so this wasn’t really useful to me.

opioid not working at all
I’m disappointed as I’ve read lots of positive results of people using
opioids
. Thank you.

RLS journey- question of pain…
It does go off with
opioids
/ pain killers (I also have fibromyalgia) so this interferes with sleep. Has anyone else had similar experiences?? Thank You

Buprenorphine is not that harmless
dear (some) forum members, please stop recommending buprenorphine as if it were nothing. a serious side effect can be (if not even: will be) neuroinflammation (microglia-mediated inflammatory response) because it blocks the kappa opioid receptor, unlike other
opioids
. this is serious.

He said I would probably need stronger
Opioids
. I tried to resist these as long as possible. I had COVID a second time in September ( not too bad ) and then just kept ill . Would get over one thing and then be ill again . No energy , very breathless.

Medscape article on RLS
We should no longer offer
opioids
for the treatment of RLS. There's been a real shift away from the use of dopamine agonists over the years due to augmentation of symptoms, loss of efficacy, and the risk of impulse control disorders.

The problem with Buprenorphine, BTBD9 and serotonin syndrome
For instance,
opioids
stimulate mast cells, and this increases histamine release. Quetiapine is, amongst other things, antihistaminic and anticholinergic.

Gabapentin not working - next steps?
Worth trying pregabalin, or are
opioids
the only way forward? (Iron levels are well into the healthy range; had an iron IV last December; have tried everything else to no avail including magnesium, iron tablets, vitamins.

Looking for advice, yet again, please.
She is also referring me back to Neurologist I saw a year ago, who agreed that Buprenorphine, used appropriately in RLS, seems to have much less opioid side effects that other
opioids
.

I am not sure what to do next ?
After I was still in pain and still getting the palpitations.. then they said it was the medication I was on as I was on high amount of
opioids
and other stuff. Then they finally found out it was endometriosis but sadly it was too late and it destroyed my insides .

Buprenorphine vs. hydromorphone or other opioids
So I noticed during and after a recent TKR that the buprenorphine that I take for my RLS interacts with the hydromorphone that my surgeon prescribed for me for pain. First, when I was taking my buprenorphine along with the hydromorphone, the hydromorphone wasn't easing my pain because the buprenorphine

SOVENOR PATCHES (Buprenorphine)
Please could anybody using Buprenorphine confirm an article I read recently that it can block the effectiveness of other
opioids
needed as top up - maybe Tramadol - when the RLS just overrides the patch.

How long to try out a new drug
Opioids
, gabapentin (after years), pregabalin, horizont, several anti-convulsants, all cause this nervous alertness. So how long should I stick out this go round of Clonodine? I'm going crazy.

Suggestions for pain and exhaustion 2 weeks after radiation to C3?
I don’t like to take pain killers (especially
opioids
, they make me feel bad) but I don’t know what to do. Does anyone have any input or helpful suggestions on what worked for you? I have a pretty high tolerance for pain but it feels like this pain and aching will never go away!
