Methadone withdrawal without Rx
I take 15mg of Methadone two hours before my bedtime of 11pm. It is not a great cure by itself for me. I also take 1mg Nepro patch. Together it helps about 70-80%. Methadone seems like it reduces the intensity of the RLS symptoms but not the frequency. I think of it as palliative rather than therapeutic

leg weakness following RLS bout
Has anyone else noticed leg muscle weakness following a night of RLS? This is a fairly new observation for me. I have had RLS for 30 years. Pramipexole worked great for 20 years before suspected augmentation. Currently, I take 1mg Neupro patch (3 months now) and 15 mg Methadone (one year) at 9pm.

RLS & Severe Knee Pain
It’s been some time since I last posted. During lockdown I augmented on the Neupro Patch and was suicidal. I knew I had to get off the patch as I had already augmented on Pramipexole. This I did by cutting the patches until I was taking less & less. It was as I reduced the patch that the pain in my knees

Returning to Gabapentin
After having an appointment with my GP I am about to go back to taking Gabapentin after suffering many side effects on Pregabalin. I switched to Pregabalin as the dose of Gabapentin (1200) I was taking had stopped working and rather than upping the dose, Pregabalin was easier to use as it didn’t need

Iron Infusion
After years of RLS, several years of struggling on ropinerole, and the last 2 years on Neupro patches & Topiramate. Yesterday I was given my first Iron Infusion as a treatment option for RLS. There’s been lots of research by a Dr Earley at Johns Hopkins into an iron deficiency in the brain of RLS sufferers

Lyrica ocular side effects and more
I am an optometrist in Colorado with severe RLS symptoms. This forum is an excellent method of sharing information on a complicated multifactorial enigma that desperately needs some solution to this pharmacologic mess. Maybe somebody can get more clues to give better relief without the nasty side effects

How to cut Neupro 1mg patch for gradual tapering?
I'm speaking with my neurologist in a couple weeks and aim to convince him it's time for me to start tapering off Neupro and increase my Gabapentin dose. Right now I take Neupro 1mg and 400mg Gabapentin, and my RLS symptoms are still an issue at night and often times they start up in the afternoon (legs

Sleep issues
I’ve been living with YOPD since 10 years now; currently 38. On 2-3 tabs of credanil (125 mg) with Pramipexole ER 0.375 mg at night for RLS. Over the last year, I feel that i take longer to come in control of my symptoms on credanil; then I just can’t sleep well. I usually take half credanil before

Increase Neupro dosage or take Horizant or Requip?
I’m 40. I’ve been on 1mg Neupro patches for RLS for a few years. I was also on 800mg Gabapentin for six months for anxiety and spent the last couple months tapering off it. Once I went completely off Gabapentin, my RLS symptoms started appearing at night. I was directed to try going back on a small dose

Managing RLS through hip surgery
Any thoughts on managing RLS through hip surgery are needed. I’ve recently reduced my Neupro patch from 3mg to 1mg, and plan to slowly reduce that with cutting it by 1/4mg but need to time that after an iron infusion which I need about every three months. Also I think surgery should be timed a few weeks

Dopamine Patch versus tablets your experience?
Hi, I am seeking your experience as to whether Patches are safe and do or do not cause more complications than the tablets. I was diagnosed with PD 6 years ago and my Neurologist has suggested a Neupro patch 2mg/24h because I reported no real on and off periods on the Madopar tablets and no real difference

Finally, I have found relief
After suffering with what my neurologist describes as “severe” RLS since I returned from the Persian Gulf in 91, and trying every course of treatment that has been described on these posts with varying degrees of success, the only thing that was certain was that sooner or later anything that provided

Monitoring PLM episodes
This is a great resource. I learn so much from it. I have RLS and PLMD and use a Neupro patch and gabapentin at bedtime to control symptoms. Curious how folks are monitoring the number of their nightly PLM episodes. This would be of great help when adjusting nightly gabapentin doses. Thank you! Lunadog

Is an opiate the way to go?
I currently take 100mg Pregabalin and use 2mg Neupro patch (Rotigotine) and these are to control my RLS. However I have been on them for several years and they seem to be becoming much less effective starting about 4 months ago, I think I am getting into augmentation, particularly with the Neupro .

Time for a sea change?
I see that we are still advising people (seniors no less) to taper off prami - the worst of the worst. To me that’s equal to jumping in front of a freight train. The suffering is too great. I have unilaterally decided that the only way to do this is to first switch to Neupro, get the person comfortable
